  Don’t believe the bad reviews!

  After reading a lot of reviews we prepared for the worst. Im not fussy, I’ll always find something to eat and if not, I’ll go out for food. If it’s not clean or I find a problem in the room, I’ll speak to the hotel and get it sorted, not a problem. This was not the case at the Marinada. Firstly we were welcomed at the lobby by a few of the staff, a bar man (Angel) brought us drinks whilst we waited to check in. He instantly went to our two year old and made him smile, which was amazing. Angel is a real asset to the hotel and deserves a special mention! After this we went to the room, which was clean, modern, perfect for what we needed. Bring an extension lead or socket as there’s only one plug in the room!!Next was the pool area, basic, but again, we knew this when we booked and it didn’t really matter to us being with a two year old, he didn’t need slides or anything fancy. The pool bar, snack bar was basic, but always stocked with burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, toasties, chips, nachos, and cheese sauce! The food there was average, but perfect for a quick bite, or for hungry kids to help themselves whenever they feel like it. The drinks were good. Estrella lager, and coke and Fanta too, self serve so no waiting around. Then, it was time for dreaded all inclusive buffet situation that so many reviewers complained about. Honestly I found something great every morning afternoon and night! If you’re happy to eat decent quality Spanish food, Fish, paella, different meats, cheeses salads, veg then you will love it. If you eat beige British crap, burgers, nuggets, chips they have that too but not a lot of choice. Lamb chops, hoisin ribs, seafood paella, hake, haddock, whole prawns, mussels, entrecot steak, cuttlefish, chicken breast, chicken thighs are just a few examples of what i’ve had in the last week, and some were excellent. Manchego, salami, chorizo, Iberic ham and fresh bread and salad were available most of the time. Lots of desserts, although I didn’t really try any, ice creams, and different dessert sauces always available too. Breakfast always had traditional cooked English breakfast which was your average for Spain. But try the meats, cheeses and salads and breads available, they were great. They also had a variety of pastries, fruits and cereals, aswell as fresh pancakes and sauces. In conclusion, I believe you always get what you pay for. £450 per person all inclusive isn’t going to be the ritz you should know that before you even book. But I was honestly shocked at how good the hotel actually is after some of the bad reviews. All in all I would recommend the marinada 100% and please don’t be worried about your stay. It is clean and well presented, the food is good, the staff are all exceptional, even down to the cleaners who were always polite and asked how we were, and if we needed anything. Would 100% recommend and would definitely visit again if going to Salou.   After reading sone of the reviews before we went i was a bit dubious about this hotel. How wrong were some of them. This hotel is amazing, the staff are very polite and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is kept spotless by the hard working cleaning staff, rooms cleaned every single day. The rooms are spacious, very modern and excellent bathrooms. The resturant is very well organised, with a great selection and standard of food. The pool is great with a large selection of sunbeds and seating available. All in all this is a great hotel in a great location and one to which we will be returnimg. Thank you fir a great holiday.   Better than expected!

  After reading other reviews we were a bit worried but honestly we had the best time. Our room was located in the apartments across from the hotel itself and the rooms were spacious and cleaned every day. We were always able to get a chair at the pool probably due to it being September but my boys loved the pool, park and splash area. We didn’t stay up late enough to see any of the entertainment after the kids disco but there did seem to be something different on every night. The location of the hotel was great and within walking distance to a good outdoor kids amusement park, shops, restaurants and burger king and kfc. Breakfast was great every day but we did eat out for dinner most nights mainly because our kids are fussy eaters and it was just easier to go to somewhere we knew they’d eat something. The hotel staff were lovely in particular one reception lady who was very helpful getting us a taxi to the emergency room when we needed it and she even asked how our baby was the next time she seen us. We honestly had a fab time so if you’re in the same position worried about the reviews don’t be! ??   Cheap and Cheerful Couldn't Fault It

  Everyone has different experiences but I don't understand the bad reviews. I was so nervous because of them I almost asked to change. The hotel was really quite posh, the room was big enough and clean with a good balcony (we had 3 beds in 1 room). Genuinely the beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in and the shower was awesome with both huge rainshower and a handheld on a hose. I'm veggie so the buffet was tough. Breakfast was great, the evening meal was hard as things weren't labelled great but there was always enough to have and fill me up. The staff were great, always happy and helpful. The TUI Kids Club was great with a different theme everyday and the hotels kids gang were also great. Hotel was around 5 minutes walk to a cove beach but loads of steps and around 15 minutes to the main beach but right by all the shops etc. Lovely nightlife there even though we didnt get experience it because our 5 year old son was shattered by 7! We had free theme park tickets with the hotel. Absolute bargain. If people are complaining about the hotel even though they are getting tickets to their 2 theme parks, I dont understand it. The holiday was an absolute steal with a cheap and cheerful plus type hotel. There is a sewerage smell one side of the pool but I think its just because the Spanish sewerage isnt great in general, it's the way it is. People are scruffy and leave rubbish by the pool which isnt good and smoking even though they aren't meant to. The pool was warm enough but small. I didnt like the way the big end is all deep end, it doesnt gradually get deep. Youve got the kids end that goes into a corridor and then straight into deep. We always managed to get a sunbed. The beaches were incredibly busy. We were there from 21st September for a week. I'd thoroughly recommend it here. We'll be going back. Don't think too much of the bad reviews if you dont expect the world.
