    Not suitable for family holiday

    rating01 Nov 2019

There was 10 of us and a baby in two apartments the children were aged from 8 months to 15years and 5 adults. The apartments were spacious with a double bedroom en-suite and 2 single rooms and another bathroom with a shower spacious kitchen/lounge with dishwasher washing machine full fridge and three ring hob and microwave table with six chairs sofa bed and large balcony. We had requested a low floor with young children 6/7/8 and baby. We were put on the third floor and couldn’t let the baby onto it as there was over 6inch gap at the bottom, we were afraid to let the small kids on their own. The beds were terrible I slept in the single bed the first night and the noise every time I moved woke me up it was like I was sleeping on the floor the mattress was so bad my daughter who is 14 was in the sofa bed which was so broken it had a dip in the middle I ended up sleeping on it as it was better than the bed the slatts under were broken the bar was bent, it was cleaned on the day we arrived but it was not clean by any means we had no change of sheets or towels in the week we were there and we were told you clean yourself. The pool was literally 5ft by 10ft and so deep the kids couldn’t get in it was shaded by high trees too and was freezing although it was 22-24 degrees every day. There was 18 apartments most of them were owner occupied and was very noisy as had a train track right beside it and this ran from 6am to 11pm and sounded the horn about 4 times as it passed waking everyone up. I would say the apartments are good for a group of adults looking for a base rather than holiday let as it is in the old town a good 20min walk to the main tourist area and the locals are not very friendly it’s like they don’t want tourists in their area.Overall don’t book here with kids but ok on your own or with other adults

    Noisy!!!!!!!

Just back from these apartments. Train passes from 6am hooting it's horn and toots up and down regularly for the rest of the day till about 10pm ish. The line is about 50ft from the apartment balconies. The Spanish invasion occurred on day 4 about 15 of them (all the one family )arrived it was the end of us getting any lie in or swim. As the pool is tiny it felt as if they took over completely. There was a bit of an atmosphere as they woke us every morning from 8am. We asked them to b quite but it was useless. it was a bit intimidating as they kept looking up at us every time we stepped onto our balcony. Which was almost on top of the pool anyway so they probably couldn't help it. The place was almost exclusively occupied by Spaniards. The culture difference was palpable and audible. The pool is too small for the number of apartments and it is too near the bedrooms. Relaxation rating 0. The apartments are not central at all, relatively speaking they are central to the supermarket (the staff are allergic to tourists) and a very unfriendly local community who do not make you feel welcome at all. If you glance at them in passing in the street they actually glare back at you. Not a tourist friendly area at all. The walk back to the apartments at night is a bit scary too as these apartments are well off the tourist track. The inside of the apartment was fine. I think it's probably really popular with Spanish people which is fine but it shouldn't be advertised to anyone outside Spain. This place could cause an international incident if a huge Irish family and a huge Spanish family were thrown together by that pool. You need to contact them if you are on an early flight. We arrived at 2pm and couldn't get our apartment till 5ish. I'm sure this would not have been the case if we left them know our arrival time. In good conscience I could not recommend Irish people to stay here. Go to an apartment in the actual tourist area.

Great accommodation not sure about location

    rating16 Jul 2018

Spent two weeks in Salou Centre. Great apartments ,clean spacious with dishwasher, washing machine and air conditioning. The beds were very uncomfortable. The location is not ideal beside a busy railway line and overlooking a supermarket car park. There are 18 apartments and reception is not staffed ever, you phone the manager if you have a problem. I would prefer a reception area that is staffed as its more secure. I think the complex is not on the tourist track andvit can be a lonely walk back to the apartments at night.Air conditioning is standard but the charge for wifi is very excessive, €18 euros por device. For the 4 of us that would have been €72 per week!!..The pool is very small and the sunbeds are old and tattered.

Lovely spacious well equipped & well located apartments with welcoming hosts

    rating04 Nov 2017

Location is fab, just 5 mins walk from the train station & next to a huge Mercadona supermarket, 5 minutes walk from the beach & in the Spanish side of Salou. The tourist centre was around 10-15 minutes walk away & we also walked to Port Aventura in just 20 minutes. We had a 2nd floor 3 bed apartment, it was huge with a huge balcony, very well equipped with everything you could need. The pool is small, we didn't use this as we were only there for a couple of days, we did see other families using & they looked very happy. The train line runs along the side of the apartments & the trains do make quite some noise with their horns when passing, this didn't bother us, as they finished around 11 ish & didn't start again until the morning. The host Jesus was very welcoming. Would stay here again without a doubt. If you're looking for a hotel/apartment with bar/entertainment, this isn't for you, if you're looking for a good base to self cater from & explore, this is fab..
