Nice hotel, entertainment was a good laugh

    rating26 May 2026

The hotel was well set out and very clean. We had 2 rooms which were linked so worked really well for us. The room is very well equipped and has plenty of storage and everything you need to get by with basic food prep. The breakfast was always nice, not a huge choice compared to some hotels we have stayed in, however enough for most and tasty. The onsite supermarket is pretty pricey however there is a supermarket down the hill 5 mins walk. The pool is always very clean however it is very cold so we didn't use it much. Our young kids got cold too quickly. The hotel is pretty isolated however there is a bus stop a couple of mins walks. Buy a bus card from the bus shop. We loaded it with €10 which gives you 10 trips to and from salou €1 each. There are a few restaurants/bars just down the hill. Recommend restaurant route 66.The bar is very well stocked and the staff are really friendly. It serves bar food which is pretty good our kids enjoyed the loaded chilli fries, the smash burger was tasty too. Bar prices aren't great as you would maybe expect in a hotel €8.70 for a vodka & lemonade also same price for cocktails. Eddie was amazing with the kids he did a kids club through the day and then the entertainment on a night until late. He was really friendly and always seems to be at the hotel. He is great at his job the kids loved him, so much so we had to make sure we were back everyday ready for the kids games. Our daughter Liv loves the karaoke getting up plenty of times. Eddie even got her up with one of the cabaret acts. Brazilian dancing show was good fun even though I got dragged up to participate. Was a good laugh. All in all a good holiday only issue we had was one of the nights our key card didn't work. We took it to reception and the guy on reception was really funny about doing it. We told him the room number and he did it. We got to the room it didn't work. We went straight back and he had gone. There was a sign on the desk saying back in 5 mins. We waited 15 mins then rang the number for reception. By this time it was midnight and the kids were exhausted. He answered the phone to my wife and instantly shouted at her that he would be 5 mins as he was booking customers in at a sister hotel nearby which is crazy. Eddie tried to help get someone but there was no one else around. When the reception guy came back he told me that I told him the incorrect room number. Called me a liar and very reluctantly did it again. An issue which didn't spoil the holiday but this one guy let the entire place down that day.

    Basic

    rating13 May 2026

Always try to write an honest review so here goes. Rooms are basic but clean and the beds are super comfy had a sea view too. Maids came often and you get clean towels every day if you need them. Staff overall were quite knowledgeable and helpful. This was just a base for us as we were out and about daily. The bus stop is just down the road buy a bus card they are well worth getting. Pools are absolutely freezing but we did brave them a couple of times. Sun is there late morning. My absolute only annoyance was the jacuzzi pool which was full of kids constantly. We actually saw parents leaving a small child alone whilst they went back to the room. The water was absolutely disgusting it was full of pringles on one occasion. Maybe staff could enforce the rules more. The onsite shop is expensive try Michael's at the bottom of the hill.Bingo is a must we won 4 times in the week. The Elvis guy is worth a watch he is very entertaining and has a great voice. Didn't see any of the other acts so cant comment. Overall we had a pleasant stay although its definitely not a 4 star.

    Could be better

    rating01 May 2026

We stayed at Sun Club Cap Salou for 7 days (ending 2nd May) with our 4-year-old son Ollie, who has autism. While there were a couple of positives, overall the experience was disappointing — particularly for a family with a young child.Starting with the positives: the rooms are very good. If you’re planning proper self-catering, everything you need is there. There’s plenty of storage and our room was spotlessly clean, which we couldn’t fault.Unfortunately, outside of the room, things went downhill. The pool setup is poor. The pools are extremely cold, and out of the three pools only one is heated — and children aren’t allowed to use it. For a family hotel, that simply doesn’t make sense. The kids’ pool has three water features, but they either rotate one at a time or, more often than not, none are on at all.The play areas next to the kids’ pool are in a bad state. They are poorly maintained and, in our view, unsafe.Food and drink prices are excessive. €3 for a small (250ml) Coca-Cola is hard to justify, and the on-site shop is significantly overpriced — around 40–50% more than Michel Angelo Supermarket just a short walk away.Staff across the hotel generally came across as surly and unapproachable, which doesn’t help when you’re already trying to manage a child with additional needs. The kids’ entertainment hour is poorly thought out. It takes place in a section of the bar that simply isn’t suitable, with clear risks of slips and falls. More generally, the entertainment noise carries heavily — while it does stop around 11pm, it is very loud in the room when in full flow, even with the doors closed.Safety is also a concern in places. The balconies are not ideal for small children, with a noticeable gap between the balcony floor and the glass barrier. On one occasion, there was a loud argument on our floor that went on for nearly two hours with no staff intervention, which was both uncomfortable and concerning.Even basic things like disposing of room waste are awkward. Bins are difficult to find, with wheelie bins located on stairwells behind fire doors — not convenient or intuitive for guests.Overall, while we made the best of it and Ollie did enjoy parts of the holiday, the hotel falls short in several key areas. With better maintenance, more thoughtful facilities for children, and improved staff attitude, it could be a much better place to stay.As it stands, we wouldn’t return.⭐️⭐️☆☆☆ (2 out of 5

Lovely hotel, but the NOISIEST hotel EVER (please read)

    rating26 Apr 2026

I dont usually write reviews, but as a new mum travelling with a young baby, I think its important that experiences are shared that would benefit others from knowing. Im going to give a very honest and balanced review, so please read to the end if you are thinking of staying here with a young baby. Location: Cap Salou is very small and hilly, with a handful of restaurants/bars. There were only 2 restaurants open as the season didnt start until May. There are some beautiful coves with clean accessible beaches within a short walk from the hotel. There is also a stunning coastal path that takes you to Salou Town (Not accessible with a pram as parts are very rough / rocky / brambley) Buses are every 15mins and it takes approx 10mins to get to Salou (€2) and there is also a fun little train (€6 per adult) both outside the hotel, there are also taxis always parked outside the hotel (€11-16 to salou)Hotel: The hotel is lovely, its clean and the rooms are a very good size with adequate facilities. On arrival you have to pay €100 deposit (refundable at check out) and local tax (cant remember how much this was) We were also charged an extra €20 for the cot. We didn't use the main pool as it was so cold, but the heated jacuzzi was an added bonus. Table tennis, pool tables, small kids arcade were good features and the evening entertainment had a decent variety. The food was nothing to write home about and quite expensive. We didnt bother with breakfast but a full English or the buffet were €12.95 (didnt look to be much on offer). The shop at the hotel Coaliment had an excellent selection, everything you need, but VERY expensive. Now the important part ..... The hotel is the NOISIEST hotel I have ever experienced (im well travelled) noise from other rooms, floors and the bar/entertainment area was literally deafening and my poor baby was constantly woken up. When I asked reception if we could move rooms as we were literally next to reception where the entertainment is, we were told we would have to pay €30 cleaning fee and should have told them when we arrived (which was 11am). When I explained that we had never stayed there and weren't to know it was going to be so loud, we were not met with any empathy that our baby couldnt sleep, instead were told that our room was fine and that the hotel is loud everywhere and the music stopped at 11pm-12am. Towards the end of our stay, the hotels at either side opened and the noise levels increased even further as the SunClub is sandwiched between 2 other big hotels. Overall Opinion: Lovely hotel, great amenities, nice location.... Would I stay here again.... NO largely due to the noise and the dismissive, unhelpful receptionist who was so uninterested in helping us or trying to improve our stay at the hotel. Personally I think our room was not suitable for a family with a young baby and we should have been in a room at the far end of the hotel where the noise would have been less prominent.
