  Very average restaurant for the price.

  We only used the restaurant. It was a special celebration with my family. The food was very average, Cochinillo tough, judiones tasteless. One rude waitress who assured me she was "not to going to rob my plate" (?), when I tried to finish my food.   Weird place.

  If you want to feel as though you stepped into a Bond Lair - this is the hotel for you! Stunning views and 1960/70 Bond architecture. If you want flexibility and common sense steer clear. Had read that there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room so had the sense to bring my travel kettle (despite reviews mentioning this lack I knew the rigidity of a state run establishment meant they would never actually do a thing about that and I suppose it’s quite British). Off for my morning swim only to be told the pool doesn’t open to 5pm. Excuse me? A massive hotel and you don’t open your pool to 5pm? So I ask and at the reception and the guy tells me 5-10pm during the week. I jump in at 850pm. The guard comes up - shutting at 9 - it’s on the timetable (shame she didn’t mention that I wouldn’t have bothered getting in. Then proceeds to tell me I may have misunderstood (sure I only have a degree in Spanish. Told me 10-2 and 5-10 at weekends.) Nope that’s not what the timetable says. Anyway go for my morning swim (it’s Saturday they can cope with day time opening, get out for my sauna only to be told i should have reserved it 20 minutes earlier. (Oh never mind you are doing my head in). Food in restaurant outstanding. The rest of it just comes across as weird if you have stayed in a normal hotel.   Stunning hotel but….

  This hotel is in a spectacular location with commanding views of Segovia. However, there is a reason that it is not number one here on TripAdvisor. There is a lot of room for improvement. On two occasions we were stranded without transport. Each time, I telephoned the hotel who told me they could not help and gave me the number of a taxi company. When I asked if the company spoke English, the lady I was speaking to laughed. I didn’t find it funny. Upon check-in instead of being welcomed and greeted with a smile, three words were said, Your passports please’. Two days earlier we had checked into a different Parador where we were also greeted with three words but the big difference was they were ‘You are welcome’. Almost all staff we encountered were unsmiling and a little surly. Staff training is definitely needed!All rooms have balconies with spectacular view of the city and surrounding countryside. Our room was adequately appointed as was the bathroom. There are sound issues however, with running water, flushing toilets, tiled floors etc or combining to Make for a restless night. Also, there was no air-conditioning on even though it was 24° luckily we were able to keep the balcony door open for that is not for everyone.Breakfast was fine. We had dinner one evening in the restaurant, our least impressive Parador dinner over the years. As mentioned already, gruff service didn’t enhance the experience.   Beautifully located Parador

  This is a purpose built Parador and not an ancient building. Beautifully located on a hill overlooking the City of Segovia and the Aquaduct in the distance.Large hotel with conference facilities with lots of free parking.The are indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a gym.Lovely restaurant overlooking the City. Taxis are around 8 euros into the town.Compared to other Paradors the Cafe area is not very big and people were waiting for tables - but there was a big event on so this may be unusual.Good breakfast .Dinner was excellent - serving the local speciality of Suckling Pig. Canapes were brought to the table which was a lovely touch.Staff were excellent - especially in the cafe staff as they were very busy.The bedroom was lovely - with a balcony and chairs.   Great location for visiting Segovia by car

  Excellent high quality hotel, all rooms have a view. Plenty of parking, short drive or ride into Segovia.
