Location

This hotel is located in the financial and commercial heart of the city, within a few steps of the Giralda and near to all the sights and monuments. The hotel offers guests a new perspective on the city of the Guadalquivir. It is the ideal location in which to enjoy fine cuisine without leaving the hotel and to experience the city’s historical heritage. Guests will find links to the public transport network only a 1-minute walk from the hotel, and the Santa Justa railway station is about a 15-minute walk away.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 60 rooms, including 2 single rooms and 54 double rooms, located in two 4-storey buildings with lifts. Guests are warmly welcomed by English- and French-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Further services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is among the standard features of some rooms. Rooms have a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a TV, a radio and WiFi are provided as well. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are on hand in the bathrooms for everyday use.     5-Star Prices, Zero Responsibility. Left Me Without My Property for 3 Months.

    I stayed at the EME Catedral Mercer in February. Upon checkout, items I had given to their ilaundry service 4 days previously had not been returned. What followed has been a 3-month saga of shocking incompetence and professional negligence.The hotel staff managed to ship my luxury clothing (valued at over €600) to a completely random hotel in Paris. After weeks of tracking it down myself, the management team then shipped it from France to a completely wrong address and zip code in Italy. The package is now permanently lost in postal limbo.Throughout this ordeal, Regional Manager Pablo López Zafra has been defensive, completely lacking empathy, and has officially refused any financial compensation. Head Office has completely ignored multiple letters. For a hotel claiming 5-star standards, their customer service and data handling are a disgrace. I have been forced to file formal complaints with the Andalusia Tourist Board (Junta de Andalucía) and consumer authorities. Avoid this hotel if you expect your property to be safe or your complaints to be treated with basic professional respect.

    Beautiful, super central & boutiquey feel hotel

    Pros:-if you arrive early they will look after your luggage whilst you explore the city & take your luggage up to your room for you.- Lovely highly central hotel-Great views and beautiful sounds of the bells from the cathedral everyday -a boutique/celebrity hotel feel (security on the front door from end of afternoon/start of evening) -most of the staff on reception are friendly/highly attentive/helpful-breakfast staff are very attentive, helpful & kind overall tooCons:-breakfast buffet food is so basic (not a 5* standard at all - it’s more like a 2 or 3 star breakfast)-lots of noise even with soundproofing measures in place (didn’t bother me to much as I slept through most of the noise)-swimming pool doesn’t feel very private (people from the rooftop bars can watch you as you swim/sunbathe)-leaky shower cubicleOverall I would recommend this hotel for a short stay as it’s so central & has lots of lovely/dedicated staff.

    This is not a 5* hotel. The communal areas are very tried and extremely bashed up. Our room was on the fourth floor and similarly also felt very tired and did not have any of the in-room amenities you would ordinarily expect of a 5* hotel. It does not feel luxurious and feels 4* at best. Location wise this hotel is great, however as Seville is very walkable you actually don’t need to be right by the cathedral. I wouldn’t recommend staying here and would instead look for somewhere that has a more luxurious feel so that it feels like a proper retreat from exploring the city. Cathedral bells and street noise are present so if you are a late riser or early sleeper keep this mind.

    Special Recognition to Joan

    There are lots of positive reviews about the historic location, the amenable staff, the artfully designed rooms ... I ditto all those. This note, however, is a special shout-out to a particular member of the staff, Joan. From the moment we arrived at the door of the hotel, to 5 days later when we left Seville for our next adventure, Joan was there for us. He secured our car, gave us a tour of the hotel, showed us our rooms, brought up our luggage. Pointing out highlights, details and shortcuts, he made a maze feel like home. In the middle of the night, Joan walked my husband to a nearby electronics store to replace a broken adaptor. Despite the hustle and bustle of a full hotel, each day Joan found time to share an insider's view for navigating the city. He guided us to places to eat like locals; made reservations where needed. Joan is young man, but wise beyond his years. He seemed to read us like a book. Not sure of Joan's position at the hotel, but he was a guardian angel for us. Seville became our favorite city. EME Catedral Mercer became our favorite stay in all of Spain. Thank you, Joan!ps: all the rooms are different. For my next stay, I will confirm a room with a shower in advance.
