A Disappointing Stay Despite a Great Location

    rating18 May 2026

Great location and vintage atmosphere but that is where the positives end.The hostel had dirty sheets, an unclean bathroom, no lockers for valuables, and fewer sockets than beds in the room. The toilet is right next to the room and noisy around the clock. WiFi did not reach the room. Staff were rude and unhelpful. For the price, none of this is acceptable. You are paying for the postcode, not the experience.

    Poor experience

    rating12 Oct 2024

The hostel made a mistake in their system and booked our dates wrong. We only got to know about this coincidentally and less than 24 hours before our check-in. This meant that the room we had booked (with a private bathroom) was unavailable for the first night of our 2-night stay. The hotel offered a room with a shared bathroom instead, but they would not budge on offering the one we had originally booked as they claimed it was unavailable. This was incredibly frustrating as we were 3 females travelling on our own and had purposely booked a room with a private bathroom to ensure our privacy. Luckily we had made the reservation through a booking agency which stepped in on our behalf, so somehow the room we had booked was eventually made available for us. This was not easy and involved a lot of emails and phone calls (which sometimes went unanswered), so we were already off to a bad start. To add insult to injury, upon check-in, we were asked to pay a higher price than that on the booking confirmation. This took some time to sort out, and the inability of the front desk personnel to hold a conversation in English did not help. Check in was incredibly slow although there was no one else waiting to do it; the verification of identity is done by the staff manually filling in a form by hand. Our room was on the fourth floor (no lift) and was accessed through the rooftop which is visited by other guests. This meant that any conversations held on the rooftop would be audible in our room. The roof is covered in a glass structure and so the room was also very warm, however this was alleviated by the aircon and a wall fan.The mattress and pillow were uncomfortably soft, and the sheets were not the cleanest we'd ever seen. The towels were of poor quality, but at least they got replaced by clean ones during our stay. Water pressure in the shower was also poor. The location of the hostel is its best feature as it's just off the shopping road. We did not attempt to have breakfast there but we did note that it was very busy.

Centrally located and worth a stay

    rating12 Jun 2024

I arrived in Seville around 10pm so despite getting a taxi I got lost as I didn't have a map and a lot of people didn't know where this was. Luckily one chap knew and even took me there, despite his Englis being non existent. It's on one of the tiny side streets off the main pedestrian shopping streets.Checking in was fast and my room was located next to reception. It's a simple room like qhat you expect in a nunnery. But it had all I needed, including a sink. I slept like a log though it normally take me a couple of days to get used to a different environment. The bathroom is shared and very small and clean. It usually had a queue and I was waiting for a good 15 minutes and eventually had to knock on the door as the person was taking ages! She came out with her curling tongs!!! Something she vould have done in her room and not monopolise the bathroom. Breakfast is basic - they supply bread that you can toast yourself, coffee/tea and maybe fruit if there was any left. It was enough to set you up for the day (and more than what I got at the next place I stayed over the river).I loved the beams and going up to the rooftop to check out the view, though there wasn't anything of interest to take in. During the day I got my bearings and could see how central the location is.

Great location and friendly staff. Breakfast was included and was adequate but very basic. Had the private, en-suite room beside reception so there was quite a bit of internal noise. Two twin beds, single occupancy with bathroom, tea/coffee facilities and tv. Good shower and comfortable bed. Had booked for just one night and was happy to move on to Hostal Roma, which was €24 cheaper per night and much better.

    A nice surprise

    rating10 Jul 2021

It is in a typical Sevillan house with a wooden stairway climbing around a patio. It is located at walking distance from the bus terminal (15 minutes) and the train station (25 minutrs). The rooms are nicely decorated and equipped with a/c and tv. The common ares are very clean and well kep but except for the ground floor, they are scorchingly hot! The staff (a boy and a girl, during my stay) are friendly and very helpful. All in all it's really good value for the price. The place is perhaps the only one in town providing a breakfast included in this price range.Highly recommended!
