Great budget hotel in Sitges, Spain

I was so pleasantly surprised by my enjoyment of Hotel El Cid in Sitges. I stayed there for eight nights in July 2026. I’ve already rebooked for next year over the same dates.Very centrally located, basic accommodations that exceeded my expectations. My room was comfortable with a great air conditioner, hot water on demand. I wason the third floor with a balcony. The housekeepers were amazing. They cleaned my room every single day when I was out at the beach and usually in the day, which I love. The breakfast was included with my room rate, and it was delicious. Everything I needed was provided so graciously by Gabriel and Lidia. They were so hospitable and always kept the foods, fresh and stocked.The front desk receptionist were also incredible. I dealt with Richard and Javier. Javier got me into my room a little bit early, which Itotally appreciated after a long flight. Richard was always there in the morning to greet me as I headed out the door.Honestly, if you just need a simple and reasonably priced accommodation in Sitges, you may enjoy Hotel El Cid. As for me, I can’t wait to get back!!!

honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough.When I booked Hotel El Cid, I was a little apprehensive because it is a one star hotel and I normally like staying in luxury hotels. A friend recommended it and said everyone loved it, so I decided to give it a chance. I am so glad I did because it has genuinely become one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was so welcoming. The staff on reception could not do enough for you and always greeted you with a smile. The hotel has such a relaxed, friendly vibe and everyone around the pool was lovely. It was so easy to switch off and enjoy the holiday.The breakfast, which was included in the price, was excellent with plenty of choice. During the day they even put out fresh lemonade and croissants for guests to help themselves to, which was such a thoughtful touch.The rooms were cleaned every single day to a really high standard. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which was very much appreciated in the Spanish heat, and having a lovely balcony made the room even better.One thing that really impressed me was what they offered after checkout. My flight was in the evening, so after checking out at midday I was able to leave my suitcase securely at the hotel. Even better, they have a dedicated shower room where you can freshen up before heading to the airport. I have stayed in five star hotels that do not even offer this, so for me that was a huge bonus and made my journey home so much more comfortable.The only tiny criticism I could make is that there was no hairdryer in the room. Luckily I had bought one while I was in Spain, so it really was not an issue.Overall, this hotel completely exceeded every expectation I had. It proves that star ratings do not always reflect the experience you will have. The friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, spotless rooms, great breakfast and thoughtful little touches made this an unforgettable stay. I would return without hesitation and will happily recommend Hotel El Cid to anyone visiting Sitges.

Fantastic budget hotel with a great breakfast! Pool area nice and clean, rooms great.. can’t fault it. Top floor balcony’s are exceptional, 2 sun loungers and electric canopy.

Old, basic and dirty hotel

Old and basic hotel but in a good location in Sitges. Check in was easy and fast, reception staff member was friendly and explained the hotel nicely. Our room was an attic room, very very basic and old and dated. Furniture and equipment barely worked. Breakfast was in a large old room with eggs, bacon, beans, breads, cereals etc. Quality of the food and layout was very poor. Cleaning was daily; but the cleaners were the nosiest cleaners we've ever encountered... from 8am in the morning the banging, shouting at each other and slamming doors was a disgrace. Upon check out, I mentioned it to the receptionist and he smiled and started laughing, no apology or an acknowledgment. I would not recommend anyone staying in this hotel.
