  An affordable accommodation

  Up a hill is this family hotel which is very nice, so it does not suit those who have poor condition. However, my room was very small and dated. In addition, the payment for the hotel was deducted a few days before the stay; deposit must also be paid. There is a small pool area which is quite nice. The breakfast was very good : there were several nice dishes to choose from. Hotel Don Cándido, Dueño at OYO Hotel Don Candido, responded to this review Muchas gracias por su reseña. Desde el pasado 9 de Febrero, existe line a guagua (autobús), con parada a unos 50 metros de la puerta del Hotel. Línea 385 de TITSA, con salida y llegada a la estación central en pleno centro del Puerto de La Cruz. Costo máximo 1.45€ (existen diversos descuentos) y duración de unos 15 minutos.Saludos!   Not bad for the price but the size of the single room was a fairly big disappointment

  The good: Overall not a bad hotel.The entrace to to the hotel and the reception makes a good impression.Staff member who checked me in was lovely and very polite. I appreciated that she spoke Spanish with me and did not immediately come at me with English, assuming that I can't speak Spanish just because I'm not from there.The not so good:The good impression of the hotel ended quite abruptly when I got to the room which contained one single bed in a very small room, just barely big enough to move around the bed. It was much smaller than I was expecting.I paid in advance for breakfast which was a somewhat reasonable 7 or 8 euros when booked along with the room, or 10, I think if you pay on site. Breakfast was nicely laid out, but the quality wasn't really there. Hot items were quite limited, a fried egg, some fried ham or something similar. Five or six types of sliced meats. They did have beans, which was a nice addition. A limited number of bread rolls that seemed relatively fresh. There were various of pastries, not fresh ones, all from a supermarket package. I tried a multi-vitamin drink which tasted like well, not great.It's kind of handy not to have to go out for breakfast the first morning, so I suggest you might try breakfast on the first day until you find out where everything is. Down the road there are some restaurants if you walk down to the TF-312 and turn right.I think the solo room could suit someone who is out exploring the city and the island all day, but I was planning to do a bit of work and the claustophobic room just didn't suit me.

  The most comfortable bed ever

  Lovely friendly small hotel. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Room was clean and comfortable, particularly the bed , possibly the best mattress I have ever experienced. Small pool looked clean but a little chilly while we were there. The hill up from town is pretty brutal so if you're not driving you need to be fit
