  Great hotel, staff, and town

  We were slightly concerned at some of the reviews we read before we left criticising the food and the All Inclusive being limited, however none of this was a problem for us.The location was great, with brilliant views of the sea and mountain, and the steep hill was not an issue for us, but I can see it might be for older people - there are plenty of taxis and buses.The All Inclusive worked fine, and although not quite as late and as many bars as other places we've stayed, it was perfectly fine.The food was varied and fresh and healthy, and the coffee machines were great.The atmosphere and staff were lovely and plenty of live entertainment.The room was great, clean, and with a lovely balcony and sea view.The roof top areas were amazing.Overall very good value, some school trips there, but no real noise problems.The town is a proper place where people actually live as well as holiday, and lovely to walk around.We were really lucky with the weather but understand it can be a bit mixed.   The hotel staff were amazing especially Julio he was lovely. Great service, we really enjoyed our selves and the hotel is immaculate very hygienic. However, jet2 didn’t inform us that even though we were all inclusive you have to pay for drinks at the top pool, which we were very disappointed. This meant having to carry our drinks up from the bottom to the top, would have been nice to have known this. The service for all inclusive drinks also stops at 10pm and after that you have to pay.   Lovely hotel but slight issues

  We had a great stay but with some annoying issuesLocation is excellent with short walk to town and the sea front which is a lovely part of Tenerife. The walk down is easy but the walk back is tougher as all up hill. We did it few times a day and was good exercise. Food was the usual hotel buffet type with salad, soup, meats etc and a rotating theme of Asian, pizza, Mexican, Indian etc. I always found something. It didn’t have a kids section which some hotels have with burgers, chips, fish fingers etc but I never eat that so didn’t mind. Pools, there are two and the bottom one seemed warmer as top one was freezing. Bottom one was good fun and nice atmosphere around the pool. The top seemed a bit more frosty and I saw some guests complaining to people in the pool. It seemed less inviting. Rooms were good with a nice balcony overlooking pool and the roads and mountains. Lovely to sit out at night. Staff were helpful and friendly though one guy at the bar kept ignoring me to serve Spanish guests behind me which was annoying as I always be polite to staff and the other bar man was very friendly. The issue I had was there are huge amounts of teenage school kids. 30 would leave and a bus of 40 would arrive. One night it was so bad I was down composing every 30 minutes until 2am. They kept saying they have told them to be quiet so I went down myself and their teacher and security looked annoyed with me which didn’t help. I know the reception and security were trying but I was amazed this could happen in a 4 star hotel. They offered to move me and I wasn’t moving in the middle of the night so moved the next morning. I was with a group of college kids and they were in their rooms for 11pm and zero noise. I wouldn’t have tolerated them running the corridors all night and they know how to be respectful of others so I only asked the same. Most of these kids were well behaved and many were polite but shouting, banging doors and running the corridors all night is unacceptable. My new room had a smell in the toilet but I didn’t care as was just so happy for peace and quiet on the 6th floor. So the hotel would have scored higher if I hadn’t lost sleep and had to move rooms. Other hotels I’ve stayed in if you continue to make noise through the night and ignore multiple warnings from staff you are out. Maybe these groups should have a similar warning because people pay a lot of money for their holidays.   Great holiday and hotel!

  The Fergus Hotel was in a great location with bus stops and shops across the road from the front entrance. The hotel was a short walk from other shops, bars and restaurants along the coast. It is a steep hill/stairs to get back up though and so I wouldn’t recommend for elderly people, unless you wanted to catch a bus back. The hotel was very clean and modern and had a great feel. All staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. The rooms were very clean and tidy and our balcony looked over the pool and surrounding area with a view of Mount Teide in the distance. There were only two plug sockets, one on either side of the bed and then one in the bathroom so we’d advise taking multi plugs. There was a fridge and safe, however our safe didn’t work. The hotel was generally comfortable and quiet and the beds were really comfortable. The buffet restaurant offered a great range of food which was fresh and delicious. The snack bar was slightly limited during the afternoons but this wasn’t a problem for us. The entertainment team; Esther, Bruna and Fabio were amazing. They got us up each day for activities around the pool and we had the best time. Evening entertainment was also good with external performers and nightly bingo. The pool area was cleaned everyday in the morning prior to the pool opening and towels were available to be hired if needed. There was a bar next to the pool and toilets/showers available. We didn’t visit the upper pool and solarium but this also looked nice. The only thing I’d critique is that the drinks for the All Inclusive package didn’t include all alcoholic drinks on the menu and so if you wanted any of these you had to pay for them at a cheaper price. In addition, the hotel said they couldn’t provide a packed lunch for us during a day out due to government rules. I don’t know how accurate this was but they did put aside an early breakfast of pastries for us before we went. Check out was at 12pm so much later than other hotels we’ve previously visited and staff from around the hotel made a point of saying goodbye which was very lovely. Overall it was a great holiday and we’d definitely return.
