    A missed opportunity...

    rating27 Apr 2026

Overall we found this hotel fine. The physical overall things are generally well executed: the location is great, nearby amenities are varied and Puerto is generally chill. The facilities are good, clean, and will cater to what you expect. Staff attend to your needs overall. Sea views are lovely, the hotel was cool and temperate during warmer days. Views fantastic from communal spaces. The problem lies with much of the execution and attention to detail. Some were minor niggles, others put a dampner on the holiday. By far and away the biggest problem was, shortly after our arrival, I discovered there was a bow in the shower tray in the room. This resulted in water pooling away from the drain, and flooding onto the bathroom and then room floor. On holiday i do not want to be told how long i can shower for, or how to do it. On reporting this to reception, a technician attended, cleared the drain out, and a cleaner brought more towels. When I returned to reception to tell them the issue was not fixed, and would not have been fixed, i was asked "what do I want them to do about it: the rooms been inhabited last week" and told to come back to see them the next day. By this point we had already unpacked, had spent all day travelling so decided to leave it.That alone would have been fine, however plenty of other issues cropped up. The bed was excessively loud and creaky, meaning i woke my wife up during the night. The microwave in the room had a display akin to a collapsing sun, and the plug was inaccessible. Trim around the room was loose and fell off when shutting the fridge. The balcony doors were broken, and we nearly ended up shut out on the balcony. The spa was €20 per day per person, or €50 for a week. The steam room was out of order, and most of the hot tub did not work. The swimming pool was cold - refreshing on a warm day, but chilly when cloudy. No fault of the hotel was a saharan dust cloud over the island for some of our holiday, but the pool was not somewhere to be. The food in the restaurant was fine, buffet meant quantity over quality but descriptions were inaccurate - ALLERGY HAVERS BEWARE. Some dishes seemed to have been sat a while, in particular a prawn had to be spat back out. Breakfast was generally more reliable. Bars stopped serving types of drinks at arbitrary intervals without explanation. For example, the rooftop bar closed at 10, stopped cocktails at some point between 8 and 9, and made every effort not to serve anything after 9:30. Pool bar likewise decided no more draft beer after 5 one day. All of these, combined with an early "what do you want me to do about it" attitude from staff meant I saw no point in raising these issues at the time. Finally, there was a particularly unsavoury incident in the indoor bar on our last evening. A dj was playing when a guest who frequented the bar arrived, and became aggressive and abusive to the DJ. This included invading his personal space, shouting, physically touching and barking at him. When the DJ decided he'd had enough, fellow staff appeared to not back the DJ, and no management intervened. The customer bullied his way into havimg his choice of music, and i felt compelled to give the DJ my email so i could send him support to use with his manager, which it turned out was needed.I dont want this to sound like a pile-on, but the hotel was booked as an annual holiday for my wife and I. We deliberately choose more luxurious, adults only spa hotels as this is what we enjoy, and unfortunately small touches and minor choices have left us disappointed. None of these issues, i believe, are unreasonable things to expect, but in a hotel where complaints are dismissed, the leave an unfortunate taste in the mouth.

Nice relaxing break away, perfect hotel for us.

    rating19 Apr 2026

We had a really enjoyable stay here and would happily return. The rooftop terrace was a standout, especially the jacuzzis overlooking the sea. We stayed in a suite, which came with robes, slippers, and complimentary towels for both the rooftop and pool area — replaced daily. From what I understand, other room types may require a deposit for towels, but it’s refundable as long as they’re returned. Some reviews mention the noise of the sea, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. The hotel sits on a cliff, so the sound of the waves is exactly what you’d expect — and we found it relaxing. The location is over an hour from the airport, but again, that’s the trade-off for staying in the north of Tenerife. It’s worth being aware of before booking rather than seeing it as a downside.Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A really nice touch was a complimentary bottle of red wine delivered to our room for my wife’s birthday — a thoughtful surprise. Housekeeping was consistent, with beds made and the room cleaned daily.Breakfast was buffet-style with a good selection. All balconies face the sea (north-facing), so don’t expect direct sun there, but the rooftop terrace and pool areas get plenty. The only minor downside was the lifts being quite slow — but if you’re able, the stairs are often quicker. The spa is €20 per person per day; we didn’t use it, so can’t comment on that.Overall, we had zero issues and a great experience. The north has a more authentic Spanish feel — quieter, with charming churches and local bars — which is exactly what we were after. That said, we may try the south next time for the weather and proximity to the airport.Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed stay away from the busier tourist areas.

Personal & honest if not picky

    rating19 Apr 2026

Seen a lot of mixed reviews before we arrived having not checked them before booking. As for my own experience, we'll start at the beginning - its lengthy...Independent transport required (but provided by airline) due to being over an hour away from the airport (Tenerife South). It does feel like you are being taken quite some distance away as it gets more and more run down looking. That being said, despite its shabbier appearance we had no issues finding decent food options around us when we didn't want to eat in the hotel restaurant.Hotel itself, while it caters to most needs, DOES NOT explain things to the best of its ability. For example - During the heatwave & Calima this week where outside temperatures reached 28/29° we decided to put on the air conditioning for returning to the room and set the temperature for 18°. On returning to the room it was like a sauna and the temperature read internal 34° - went to reception to explain that the air con wasnt working, only for a maintenance worker to tell us that cold is ' solo en verano' only in summer, in winter only is hot.... now i don't know what winter is to the hotel but 29° is not that. We ended up sitting with the patio doors open as it was genuinely cooler outside. This then was contradicted by hotel staff who told us on checking in that the pool was heated to 25° and when other guests complained that it wasn't heated at all but was freezing cold, staff explained that its only heated in winter. So its winter when you want air con on but actually heat your room, and its not winter when theres no heated pool as told? Yes April is Spring but who decides when winter/summer in the hotel ends when they have different areas running on these timescales with 2 different results.Pool towels - yes we were told we 'had' to rent pool towels otherwise we wouldnt be allowed access to either the pool or the upstairs hot tub area. I did see others mention it on here. A towel requires a €10 refundable deposit which is returned the day you hand back your towel, however the number of guests using their own towels that were not spoken to or removed by hotel staff, we lost count 🤷‍♂️ The hotel said they offer a laundry service, just put the clothes in the bag in your wardrobe and cleaners will take it away and return it with the bill, thankfully we checked before hand and rather than one charge for the bag, its a charge per item - €6 to have a t-shirt washed, €3.50 for underwear? No thanks! Same with the room safe - most hotels, even 3 star, offer a complimentary room safe, this hotel....€3 per day for use of the safe.Hotel food. Basic - tasty, cold meats and cheese selection, fresh salad, always a spaghetti dish, a roast meat dish, casseroles of sorts. Personally as a non fish eater, i still managed to find tasty meals without much thought, and you can have whatever meats for dinner cooked separately by the chef if you'd prefer it without whichever sauce its cooked & presented it. Never seen any issues or grumblings/rudeness from staff especially as theres a chef whose sole job is to cook said meat, its not a special request. That being said... for a 4 star hotel it was very basic, we have had better, and more varied options in 3 star hotels on the islands. English translations do require some work as well especially for those who may have allergies/food preferences - there was a dish marked 'lemon scallops' which one would think was fish and suitable perhaps for a pescatarian but was actually Turkey Breast in a Lemon Sauce 'Escalope style' being what they meant, but zero mention of it being Turkey. A rice dish translated and labelled with 'Fish Paella' but on googling the Spanish label its a seafood paella made specifically with shell fish, which wouldnt therefore have been suitable for anyone that thought they could have Fish but cant or are allergic to shellfish. Desserts are not well marked and simply say in some cases 'assorted pastries' but no explaination or ingredient description. Breakfast - only complaint is that for the number of hotel guests there are 2 toaster machine both if which are very slow causing a queue and even though on one occasion we attended breakfast an hour after it opened, the bread set aside for toasting felt so stale you'd have thought it had sat out exposed from the day before.Bedding....does not seem to get changed on a daily basis and for a 4 star hotel i find this very odd. Rooms get 'cleaned' every day but after checking under the bed (i dropped something) the dust build up was incredible, partner marked the topsheet with a small spot of chocolate and on returning to the room after 'cleaning' the sheet had simply been flicked over and remade despite the cleaner having a large linens cart with them, same with the bed sheet itself which despite cleaning had the same hole for 3 days until i asked reception if they should be getting changed daily and explained how we knew they hadnt been. I cant speak for other rooms, just our own. All rooms are sea/coast facing, I enjoyed the ambient noise but for people that need the quiet to sleep it can be very noisey/distracting (im told by the partner lol).Staff themselves, I cannot fault, from the cleaners to the restaurant staff, the reception staff and the bar/lounge staff- exceedingly pleasant, very grateful to converse in what im sure was my pitiful attempts at Spanish. All in all, while a decent stay, we have had better 3 star experiences, i didnt find it as time killing as say, las americas for things to do unless you wanted to walk the same beachfront shops for 7 days in a row or sit by the pool all day but it was a relaxing one time stay
