  Where the beech towels like to sunbathe

  Lovely hotel but the practice of towels on Sun loungers is really bad . It’s nearly 11 am and all Tate taken since seven with people that haven’t bothered to come out, the hotel need to do something about it.

  Weather was calm no scorching heat which helped. Pools were busy but not too bad for an off peak season. Probably also the reason waiting for lifts were not too bad. Highly recommend room 968 for great views. Worth paying extra for the view and quietness.We went half board which was sufficient in the middle of heavy lunch and dinner. On the day of our check out we paid for lunch at the snacks bar near the pool. This was an economical option. Thanks to Martha at the reception for recommending. Only issue was half board is denied water at breakfast and lunch which I found weird. I understand soft drinks. We were unaware and I hope management changes this and allows for water refills irrespective. Also since there are plenty of water filling stations across the property it shouldn't matter. Being able to store luggage helped post checkout. Reception was efficient inspite of being super busy. Towels can be loaned for 20 euro each which is convenient.I also recommend the marine facial. Lucia was a thorough professional and I enjoyed the massage. It was relaxing and indeed therapeutic. Great choice of music as well. You can book prior as they open by 10 am.Our highlight of the trip was Dani. He was fun, polite, inclusive and kind. Thanks to Dani I tried out archery for the first time and aced it in 3 days. Hard working with multiple talents as he also hosts Bingo and mini disco for kids. He remembers every guest and makes sure to check on them throughout the day. Our Bingo host whose name I can't recall on 25th May was great fun and thoroughly entertaining. Talented and has a blessed voice. Hope he gets to establish himself as a singer. My son won Bingo that day so it was extra special.We didn't check out the beach but there is direct access. Good amount of English channels on TV and we could easily switch audio to eng.Overall a good stay with great facilities.   I didn’t choose this hotel myself, a family member booked it for an event, and I already knew this type of large, busy resort isn’t really my sort of destination. That said, I think my experience could still be useful for others considering staying here.The biggest issue for me was the location and overall atmosphere. The hotel is in a very built-up, noisy area right beside a busy road, so there’s constant traffic noise from cars and motorbikes throughout the day and night. In the evenings, loud music from nearby bars and clubs could still be clearly heard from the room even with the balcony doors shut, often until the early hours.The rooms also don’t block noise particularly well. There’s a large gap under the bedroom door so you hear people walking and talking in the corridors at all hours, and light comes through too. The curtains also let in quite a bit of light, so if you’re a light sleeper or enjoy a lie-in, bring an eye mask.The hotel feels overcrowded for the amount of space available. There are around 700 rooms but only roughly 250 sunbeds, so there’s simultaneously too many and not enough loungers. They’re packed tightly together, creating an uncomfortable sea of people rather than anything relaxing.What made this worse was the hotel seemingly allowing towel reservations without enforcing any limits. Frequently lots of empty loungers covered with towels for hours while people struggled to find somewhere to sit. There doesn’t appear to be any real system in place to manage it.The pool areas reflected this too. The kids’ pool has fun slides and children clearly loved it, but there are no loungers there and it sits right next to the road, so adults are basically relaxing beside traffic noise. The heated middle pool was also constantly packed with children and sunbeds, making it feel very crowded and chaotic.Food was okay overall, a bit hit and miss but there was always something available to eat. One frustration was that food labelling at the buffet wasn’t always clear or consistent.The staff were excellent throughout the hotel: friendly, hardworking, and probably the highlight of the stay.A few other annoyances: having to pay a deposit to hire towels felt unnecessarily faffy, and parking costs €10 per day despite spaces not always being available.The hotel does have a “Premier” area which I suspect offers a better overall experience away from some of the crowds, but unfortunately it’s adults-only, so not an option if you’re travelling with children.To be fair, the kids had a good time and really enjoyed the pools and activities. The sea views from the main pool area are also nice. But overall, the hotel felt tired in places, far busier than expected, and the website presents it as a more relaxing and spacious resort than it actually is.If you enjoy lively, crowded family resorts and don’t mind noise, you may enjoy it more than I did.   Had a fabulous 7 days with family here

  7 days "Familymoon" with newly wed daughter and 2 Grandchildren. From the minute we checked in we felt very looked after and informed by the staff. The hotel is big yes but incredibly spacious!! We were AI and were not disappointed one bit. If you couldn't find anything to eat in restaurant or snack bar then you must be incredibly fussy. Clean and bright again staff across all areas of the hotel complex where very interactive and pleasant. Room servicing regular which was nice . The kids pools are just what a 3 and 4.5 year old needed and what adults felt safe them using. Was unaware at booking to the enviromental aspects of the running of hotel. I applaud them for that 👏. Bobo beach sooo close by, not the biggest and natural volcanic coloured sand but great for swim or snorkel.   Overall, we were fairly satisfied with our stay in Iberostar Waves. However, we think there is room for improvement.We were welcomed by a friendly receptionist and were allowed to check into our room early which was fantastic. We were staying in a Family Room which was spacious, but lacked storage. We had a beautiful view from our balcony of the ocean which was pleasant. However, what struck us early on, unfortunately, was the sticky and dirty floor, which remained uncleaned for the duration of our stay.The breakfast was very impressive and catered for all our needs. There was a great variety of hot and cold breakfast items. The staff were friendly and attentive, particularly the cheerful lady who fried our eggs.The pool area was very busy, even though we didn't travel in peak season. As we were staying B&B, we felt strongly that there was a bias towards All Inclusive guests. Everything such as ice-creams and beverages had to be charged to the room, and there was no facility to pay with cash or card. Our daughter thought the water slides were brilliant and very safe, with a vigilant life guard always on duty. The heated pool was a bonus for cooler temperatures, which included a shallow part for children.Sadly, I will finish on a negative, but impactful note. We had read reviews about the lifts before our stay, but didn't expect them to be this bad. They were a joke. There were long waits for frustrated guests.
