  The worse hotel ever .stay at porta la cruz la carabella .fire hazzaed 6 of went 10 june till 24 .up on hill when I already stated I can't do steps .hotel was dirty mattresses riped .bar for coffee or teas shut .fighting every night in other appartments only 1 staff on a time no rep so unable to get help .dead pigeon was on roof outside appartment was there for 11 days .rubbish all outside the hotel sun roof not usable carpets and broken chairs up there dirty .smell from toilets of sewerage. 3 of us had accidents I fell on metal steps going to pool had to go on fire escape to access the pool my granddaughter fell broken ridge between balcony doors. My other granddaughter had her big toenail ripped of because the plastic ridge around pool was broken .shoer over flooded as glass panel was missing .the kitchen had 1 plug in it was behind the microwave we had to lift it of in order to use kettle which we waited 2 days for toaster was broken .the door of appartpent was in the way of cooker .fire hazzard .the complete holiday ruined .I was totally sold the wrong holiday. I asked was it flat it wasn't it had a dangerous slope to enter hotel they shut pool at 6 .shut down pool table at 9 .no bar where you could buy coffee or etc.smell was horrendous.

  Rooms are dated, far different from the social media photos. the whole place needs some serious TLC. 24 hr reception which is a positive i suppose but all reactive nothing proactive.some serious H&S issues, for instance the balcony we were on was the 4th flour one of the metal rungs was broken and an infant could have got through to a massive fall. my son 14, cut his foot on damaged tiles in the pool. we reported it and we got n ok we will look in to it.positives, quite well situated with only a 20 minute walk to the beach and Lido, which is all down hill. on the way back its up about 200 steps and steep roads. the rooms were kept clean by the house keeping department, if it wasn't for those ladies it would only be a 1 star rating. we gave them a little tip on the first week and they looked after us very well.this is supposed to self catering but very limited facilities, two electric rings and a microwave. unless you want to cook Sag Bol every night you will struggle to cook a decent meal.the place had the feel of a hostel for most of the two weeks we were there, a lot of turn over of young guests who had no respect for other guests. making noise all hours with no consideration of others. if you re looking for a short stay for a stag or hen then maybe give it a go.There are a few really good things as well, the views from the balcony were stunning. on a clear day you had a great view of the volcano and surrounding hills. local to shops bars and restaurants.

  DON'T BOOK, it's a dirty, miserable feeling "hotel" totally mis sold on the booking sites.

  Massively disappointed, hotel is filthy due to it being attached to a building site, left hand side is being totally rebuilt. Staff unfriendly, bar not open at all, bathroom smelled of sewage, filled with what felt like exchange students.

  Do not stay here. Please read this review in full if you intend to book here. Their website and all their advertisements are completely false. The bedrooms felt more like storage cupboards, there were multiple random furniture items that didn’t fit anywhere. Room had 3 separate beds even though it was a single booking. It felt like a hostel room. The rooms were completely different to those shown on the website/listing. It’s like they just got pictures from a nicer hotel down the road and used those photos instead. The picture of the pool is not the one in this hotel, I have no idea where they got that photo from. There is no currency exchange, no kettle in the room, no snack bar (it’s a vending machine), no safe box (you have to rent the key for €26 a day), no TV remote (you have to rent that too), no “spa”, no restaurant (it’s a greasy breakfast buffet* that’s open for 2 hours in the morning), no hotel bar, bedroom kitchen is not “fully equipped”. The “free toiletries” consisted of a bar of soap and a wall soap dispenser. The towels were thread-bare *The “breakfast” was revolting, everything was greasy, overcooked, rubbery and had a bizarre taste. They advertised “spa and relaxation” - absolutely no spa here or anything remotely similar. After check out we had a 4 hour wait before the taxi took us to the airport. We asked if we could have a late checkout, but they were full. Fair enough. But they then said we are welcome to use the pool. We asked where we could get changed - “There is nowhere to go to get changed”. We asked why they would offer use of the pool then - “I dont know”. Reception staff were unfriendly and actively unhelpful and didn’t seem to know anything about the local area.Only the cleaning staff were friendly and they did a brilliant job each day. But would absolutely would never stay here again.

  La Carabela Is Very Good Hotel

  I have stayed at this hotel most years since 2010 and only made one complaint in all that time and it was resolved very quickly found staff very helpful especially during the pandemic with all the paper work required. The WIFI is very good and is free the people who complained there was no remote or key for the safe didn't bother to ask at reception there is a charge for the safe as there is in most hotels and a 10 euro deposit for remote refundable at the end of your stay its a clean quiet peaceful hotel with great views of Mount Teide and the rooms are cleaned daily except Sundays its near to the supermarket shops and restaurants and the taxi stance is right next to supermarket, If you wish to go to town fare costs about 3 euro I mostly ate out which was very reasonable in nearby restaurants and used kitchen in room to make snacks. The weather is good in Puerto De La Cruz In all the 12 years I have stayed there about 9 months in total there's been less than 10 days of bad weather works out about one bad day per holiday over 12 years so weather is nowhere near as bad as people make out.
