  Beautiful hotel with amazing staff

  Just had an very relaxing stay in this beautiful hotel . Room with garden terrace was perfect for us . Spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds.The old quarter of the hotel has the massive wow factor and in the old court yard has a beautiful seating area where you can enjoy a drink when you come back from exploring this quaint old city or coming back from an evening meal .Staff were all fantastic and made a point to ask if your enjoying your stay .pool area on the roof gave you an amazing views across this historic city, makes you feel your in a Dan brown novel.Will definitely be rebooking La Laguna Gran hotel, Atención al cliente/recepción at La Laguna Gran Hotel, responded to this review Dear Paulhyde,Thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful review.   Once bitten, never coming back again.

  I had a few issues with this hotel. It was impossible to cool the room down to a temperature that was comfortable for sleeping. A maintenance guy came up to my room and assured me everything was working absolutely fine, I ended up getting a shoebox sized fan to help cool the room. Not very efficient, I wonder how they manage in the middle of summer. I handed in a pair of uniform trousers to be cleaned, they came back all crumpled up because “ I didn’t specify I wanted them ironed “. When they ironed them after I complained they came back ironed like a pair of jeans, no crease and coveren in iron marks. I ended up having them washed again and ironing them myself. I will not stay here again.   Cold food and warm wine – avoid

  We dined here once and opted for the €19 three-course menu. While cheap, the quality was very poor. The white wine was served warm, the soup was barely lukewarm, and the main course arrived cold. The mashed potatoes felt like they came straight out of the fridge. Their solution was to remove the meat and microwave the rest, which was quite unappetizing.Would not recommend.   Bad hotel

  We arrived and was difficult to park near the hotel. After asking the reception we found the way to the garage to park the car, nobody informed me that the parking is not for free during the check in. We asked to put some small ice bags on their freezer for the transportation of medicine the next day. They said is impossible you have to inform us in advance to inform our manager. They left us like that. We were to 5 other hotels before this hotel and it was never problem. The room was ok. The breakfast was Amazing I can say it was the only thing I liked there.We were on halfboard, the dinner was a la carte. You couldn’t get sat at all, and really bad dishes not tasty at all.At the check out day I asked how to go out from the parking and they said you have to pay first 12€ for the parking day. So much for parking in a normal hotel we don’t pay in Switzerland!!! After the dinner we were still hungry, we walked around to find something to eat but almost nothing around at this time 21:00. First and last time I go to this hotel. You better search another with better service and better location than this. This is a protocol to ensure the correct handling of food and health regulations, and we regret if this caused you difficulties during your stay.We are also sorry that our half board dinner service was not to your taste, even though you enjoyed the breakfast and found the room comfortable.As an independent hotel, low ratings like yours affect us greatly, but they also motivate us to keep improving.   Among My Favorite Hotels

  Gran Hotel has among the coolest hotel entrences I have seen. That sets the atmosphere of the whole place. You have everything you need there, and then some. There is a bar/cafe, swimming pool, gym, fine rooms, and mine had a fantastic balcony. Among the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Ohh, the staff is great.
