    Appalling service & hotel

    rating08 May 2026

Absolutely terrible experience at the hotel, got a phone call on the 3rd night in at 12:30pm when me and me friend was sleeping saying there was a noise complaint coming from our room,Move on to 2 nights later it is currently 12:43pm and we are woken up by somebody banging aggressively against our door, bare in mine we are 2 young females in the hotel alone!! Called down to reception where a none English speaking security guard was sent up and advised he would stay on the corridor as he was sure this was a “mistake” checked 5 min after placing the call and no security on the corridor!! Absolutely appalled at the level of service and help not provided by the hotel, let’s hope it doesn’t continue for the rest of the holiday as I’m currently sat wide awake at the door at 1:08am waiting for someone to bang on our door again! Mixed feelings

    rating25 Apr 2026

Location is in the North, which is a hour and a half driver from the airport. It's a bit tiring after a long flight if your travelling down from further than London or Manchester to get here. The Hotel is very nice and has been renovated fairly recently. The area it's self is very up and down hill, so if your older or have mobility issues you might find getting around a bit hard unless your on a coach based holiday. I would say it's ideal for hikers. The surrounding area is a mixture of new, old and run down. It's more of a Spanish resort. If your looking for loads of bars, clubs etc you won't find them here. If your not eating at your hotel, I would stray away from the main strip and head down back streets to eat, it's cheaper. Plenty of supermarkets to grab a snack or drink and they vary. If you get the chance, grab a cab to EL Campo, it's like Costco and you will find drink, cigarettes and everything but the kitchen sink to buy there. There are also some lovely shops there. It's about 10 mins and 13 euro by taxi. You can get a bus. There are some lovely places to see the old town, the botanical gardens. There is a zoo and aquarium but the tank is very small to keep Whales and they do to many shows a day. But I believe they should be in the sea. You can go on boat trips to see them in their natural habitat. We had a standard room that was quite spacious with a balcony. Granted the view wasn't great but could see the sea at the end of the road. Air con works really well, comfortable bed and lovely pillows. Nice bath towels very big but not the softest but that's how I like them. There is a mini bar but we used it to store milk in because you never get enough. Hairdryer in bathroom with a 2 head shower. Nice and clean and was cleaned every day. Room was very quite at night even though we were on a main road. The dining room is buffet style and there is a fair amount of choice from cold to hot. Some nights I wasn't to keen and not much choice for kids if they are fussy. I would of liked the food a bit hotter, so eat up quick if you don't want a cold meal. Breakfast was probably the better of the two sittings. If I came here again I think I would just do breakfast. The serving staff were hit and miss. First two nights it was like to much trouble to take your order with a side of arrogance. Then the 3rd night we had a little bald waiter who was pleasant and polite. So we sat at which ever section he was covering. We found the same sort of attitude in a number of places on the island. Puerto Del a Cruz is more a Spanish resort which is not a bad thing but not as welcoming as the people of Lanzarote. Both our transfer rides in the mini bus were just the same, it was like an effort to drop us off. The wine was a bit pricey and some waiters kept trying to push it in the restaurant you can buy it by the glass but we had water or a beer then had drinks in the hotel bar or one of the many small bars/cafes nearby. Overall hotel nice, food ok, lovely pool area. Staff hit and miss in the bar and restaurant restaurant. Spa and reception staff were fine. In a few shops we even got asked if we were English, I joked and said does that make the price go up. If I go back I'll try another area of island. Overall for what I paid for this trip it was very fair, shame the surroundings and some of the people let it down. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Costa Atlantis Tenerife, responded to this review Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your observations on your recent stay at Meliá Costa Atlantis Tenerife. We are pleased to hear you found your spacious room with a balcony comfortable and appreciated the effective air conditioning. It’s wonderful that our pool area added to your relaxation and that the daily room cleaning met your expectations. We acknowledge the challenges our hilly location may pose for guests with mobility concerns and appreciate your understanding.Regarding the buffet, we strive to offer varied options and will consider your observations about meal temperatures and children’s choices.Your comments about service inconsistencies in the restaurant and bars are taken seriously, as we aim for consistently welcoming interactions. We’re glad the spa and reception teams contributed positively to your experience.Your note on the balcony’s partial sea view encourages us to highlight our rooms with full ocean vistas for future stays. We look forward to welcoming you back on a future occasion. Relaxing Stay with Sea Views and Great Location

    rating21 Apr 2026

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Meliá Costa Atlantis. The hotel’s social spaces, including the bar and reception, were beautifully designed—both inviting and aesthetically pleasing, making them lovely areas to spend time in.Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the balcony offered a sea view, which was a highlight. However, the bathroom felt a little dated and could benefit from some modernisation to match the overall style of the hotel. The food was enjoyable throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and dinners were generally very good, although the selection did vary in quality on different evenings. The pool area was ideal for relaxing, and the hotel’s location is excellent. We especially loved strolling along the promenade and stopping for coffee along the way—it really added to the experience.Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Costa Atlantis Tenerife, responded to this review Dear Madam,We appreciate your kind words about your stay at Meliá Costa Atlantis Tenerife and are happy you returned home with great memories of your holiday. We're glad you enjoyed our inviting social spaces, spacious room with sea view balcony, and relaxing pool area by the promenade. We’re reviewing the bathroom to better match the hotel’s style. It’s great you appreciated the breakfast variety and many dinner options. We all hope to welcome you back in the future.Best wishes,Emilia M., Meliá Costa Atlantis Tenerife Team

Great location, but not 4 star in my book.

    rating17 Apr 2026

I am staying here right now and echo many of the reviews of many previous customers. No bed side tables with draws, is annoying. The quality and consistency of breakfast is very hit and miss ( the poor chef frying eggs at busy times cant cope with demands) waiters are very efficient. The housekeeping staff are very nice, but sometimes rooms are not cleaned until 4pm and we have to constantly ask for coffee refills. There are no Ice machines available and the front desk advise getting ice from the bar, for the most part that works and many bar staff have been friendly and accommodating ( apart from the odd rude female member of staff that makes life difficult ) . Spa is good, but €25 for 90 mins is a bit much and is probably the only reason the hotel gets 4 stars. Massages can be obtained locally for half the price on offer at the hotel. . Pool gets busy but is well managed and clean. We booked Melia Torremolinos a month ago which was excellent and the reason we chose Melia Costa Atlantis . However, they are not the same quality and Atlantis lags far behind. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Costa Atlantis Tenerife, responded to this review Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your observations on your recent stay at Meliá Costa Atlantis Tenerife. We are pleased to hear that our central location and well-maintained pool contributed positively to your stay. It's wonderful to know you found many of our bar staff friendly and that the cleanliness of your room met your expectations. We also appreciate your recognition of our efficient service during busy periods.Regarding breakfast, we acknowledge that consistency can be challenging during peak hours and are evaluating kitchen workflows. We regret the inconvenience caused by the unavailability of bedside drawers and the housekeeping schedule, which we aim to align more closely with guest preferences.Your comments about spa pricing have been noted as we continually assess our value proposition. We take seriously the isolated incident involving a staff member and have reinforced our commitment to respectful service standards. We do hope that we will be able to welcome you back on a future occasion.
