  We are really sad that we won't return here

  I want to start by saying what a fantastic time we have had. We arrived home a few days ago and have visited this hotel several times now. This time we had breakfast included and it was great. We have fallen in love with the hotel which is why I am really sad to say we will not be returning.The apartments are lovely. They are dated but functional and fully equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. It has always met our expectations as a family friendly, affordable holiday for our family of 5 and unfortunately this is where our story changes.As we were sitting in the sun, willing time to slow down as we were getting ready to leave, we popped on to loveholidays to book a 2 week trip for the same time next year. This year, we paid a little over £1100 for 7 nights for a family of 5. Very reasonable and affordable for a young family. This same time (in term time so to avoid the ridiculous price hikes of the school holidays) in 2027 but this time for 14 nights, loveholidays gave a quote of £11,000. Breakfast was NOT included.This price is nothing short of outrageous and not justified in any way. For us, the location is fine, we are happy to be away from the town, however the hotel is at the top of a very long, very steep hill making it difficult accessibility wise. We walked in to Los Cristianos every day but paid for a taxi back up. The apartments although fine for our family, are undoubtedly dated and in need of improvement. The aircon is there but isn't the best and sometimes leaks from the vents in the ceiling. There is a lack of free facilities other than the swimming pools. The pool bars are expensive. Kids club (although I dont use them) is limited and I believe only runs for 2 hours. We went to a themed Mexican night, the food was fantastic but the entertainment was poor. There was the normal animation team dressed in Mexican outfits doing their normal bits, then someone singing some Mexican songs and then a rock band (who were great but definitely not Mexican themed!!) And it was expensive at €37 per adult. The atmosphere was, for the most part, lovely. Are pool 3 there is a fantastic lifeguard who is so wonderful with children, really kind and helpful pulling sunbeds together or bringing an umbrella over. He was great. But on Sunday he wasnt there and was replaced by the rudest individual I have come across in any of my stays here. He was very rude and abrupt. He was telling people off, quite literally shouting at people. He told me off for having an umbrella over my 3 year old because it was windy. There was a heatwave this weekend, it was 34c. It was windy yes but the way I was spoken to was out of order. There was a group of young women next to us who he shouted at un necessarily. It just put a downer on our experience.We are genuinely sad to not be returning to Hollywood mirage. Over past 3 years we have been several times and feel very at home here. Unfortunately, regardless of how much we have enjoyed coming, £11,000 it utterly outrageous and it is definitely not worth that amount of money, even if it was all inclusive!!

  Avoid this place at all costsI had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this hotel. During my stay, a phone and cigarettes were stolen from our apartment. We reported this to the reception, but absolutely nothing was done about it. Strangely, the theft happened on the same day the room was cleaned, which raises serious concerns about security and staff accountability.The apartment itself is in very poor condition. It looks outdated, like something from the early 90s. There are cracked tiles on the stairs, a torn sofa, and overall everything feels worn out and neglected. To make matters worse, we even saw cockroaches.The hotel is located on a hill, which makes it unsuitable for people with health or mobility issues. Security is practically nonexistent—anyone can enter or leave the hotel freely, and no wristbands or any form of guest identification are provided at check-in.Food options are very limited. There is almost nothing suitable for children apart from fries, which is far from acceptable for a family-friendly place.The only positive thing I can mention is that the apartment was spacious.Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.   Not a bad hotel

  Solo traveller- great comfort!

  Would recommend this hotel! My room was clean and comfortable- perhaps the furniture could do with some upgrades (i.e sofa and armchair) but was pleasantly surprised with the level of comfort in my room. Shower was fantastic- good and powerful, decent sized towels and toiletries also. Air con worked well and kitchen area had everything that was needed. Tv has English speaking channels and balcony had a great view of sea. The free shuttle bus to the beach area of Los Cristianos was great and very reliable- advise to wait about 10 mins before pick up times though to guarantee seat in bus. Location is quite hilly so be prepared to get your steps in!Food selection was plentiful for breakfast and fresh. Atmosphere by the pool was good but chose to head out at night- seemed nice for families with young kids though.Staff were for the most part friendly and helpful. One bar staff member wasn’t the happiest or friendliest but other than him everyone was polite and chirpy. Would return here again- thank you Hollywood Mirage for a great stay in Tenerife!
