    Absolutely Fantastic

    rating25 Apr 2026

We spent 6 nights here and absolutely loved our experience. The team here are super professional and provided such good service. Probably the best we’ve had at a resort ever! The room was large with a balcony and well styled with a very comfortable bed. Very clean and lovely Rituals toiletries too. We ate at Starfish, NAO and El Rincon de Juan Carlos. All were really lovely with Juan Carlos being the stand out experience, absolutely fantastic. La Caleta is a nice town with many good restaurants (Salitre and Troque were our favourites). Breakfast each morning was delightful, lots of choice, never had to wait and they always remembered our hot drink order. Pool service was prompt and friendly at both pools. Our flights departed outside of check in/out times and they kindly organised a courtesy room for us to shower and change in which was appreciated. We plan to return!

Absolute luxury and so beautifully designed

    rating25 Apr 2026

This hotel really is 10/10. We’ve stayed in the Sir Anthony (a 5* boutique hotel in Arona/Las Americas) a few times and believe it’s a touch of class, so that was our barometer when staying at the Royal Hideaway Beach hotel at La Caleta. The Royal Hideaway is a better hotel in my opinion. It’s a beautiful design, more high end, better interior design, with bigger junior suites and more pool options - the roof top pool was my favourite, however my husband disagrees. Whilst he loved the Royal Hideaway too, not being able to put up a parasol at the rooftop bar due to winds meant he struggled to seek a shaded lounger. Whilst the limited space to manoeuvre a lounger and an umbrella when trying to seek shade at the other pool, without shading other people nearby was a struggle for him(and anyone who seeks a shaded lounger) Whilst there are many Michelin star restaurants, they were unfortunately mostly wasted on us as my husband is quite a fussy eater, plus we both don’t eat fish so we can’t comment. There are plenty delicious restaurants nearby that we really enjoyed however and I don’t doubt the food at these hotel restaurants wouldn’t be first class. The hotel suites are beautiful and the balconies are absolutely huge. We had a junior suite and enjoyed the use of the expansive balcony, which had 2 loungers and a table and chairs. The sea view is indeed a sea view but it’s way into the distance so if you’re hoping to hear the sea, you’ll be disappointed. Before the sea you have all the roofs from the breakfast whilst still lovely, I’ve had better sea views but not better balconies.Breakfast was nice, really varied and quite busy at times around 9am. Lovely to sit at the front right at the garden but it’s predominantly in shade the whole time we had breakfast when we visited. The staff cannot do enough for you. We had an issue with our air con not working properly and mentioned to the staff on two separate occasions (as the first attempt didn’t solve the issue). The second time the maintenance man got it working and for our ‘troubles’ we came back to our room that afternoon to some Prosecco and chocolate strawberries and sweet treats - although completely unnecessary such a lovely touch from the hotel.I celebrated a special birthday whilst there and returned from the pool on my birthday to a bottle of Prosecco and a beautiful chocolate birthday cake, a very, and most appreciated special touch. If I was to pick any faults, after staying at their newly opened Royal Hideaway Suites last year, it looks like their newer hotel has made some small improvements. For example, there is automatic floor lighting when moving to the toilet through the night, rather than inside the wardrobes such as in the beach hotel. The thing that bothered me most however was the toilet and shower doors aren’t soft closing, quite the opposite. That might sound really picky but because it’s a fully glass door with a metal closer, after a point the door seems spring loaded so automatically fully closed when the door is gently pushed. However with no soft closer, the doors clatters really loudly when closing, almost to the point you think the glass could crack/break - it causes such a noise. When inside both the shower or toilet, there also isn’t a proper handle to grasp making it a little tricky to get the door open from inside both the shower and toilet when closed, which again is why it can be difficult to remember to catch the door to stop it banging shut. A small thing I appreciate but could be an issue for people who perhaps have less dexterity in the hands/fingers. However, it’s clearly an issue they recognise given they’ve rectified this in their newer recently opened hotel 30 minutes further uphill.I would come back without hesitation but I’d struggle to convince my shade seeking, plain eating husband. If you want to be soiled rotten and don’t mind a walk for dinner if you’re also on the fussier side when it comes to food, I personally don’t think you can go wrong with this hotel, it’s absolutely stunning!!

Beautiful hotel but not quite perfect.

    rating24 Apr 2026

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. Our room was spacious with a large balcony and a lovely sea view. The breakfasts were delicious, a wide and varied buffet and a menu of freshly cooked eggs, the poached egg with avocado being my choice on more than on occasion. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location is perfect, it's walking distance to the beach and restaurants. La Caleta is a beautiful quiet resort, only a few bars and restaurants so it's perfect for a quiet relaxing break. Unfortunately, there are negatives to the hotel. The lack of an internal or sheltered lounge and bar area. Tenerife is an area known for the winds, the two bar areas, although lovely, are by the pools and open to the elements leaving nowhere to go to have a relaxing nightcap or daytime coffee when the weather changes. The hotel lacked any type of atmosphere or vibe. Although we enjoyed our stay it's not a hotel I'd return to.
