    Really lovely spot!

    rating27 Sept 2022

Highly recommended if you want to relax away from all the worse touristy bits - lots of gorgeous scenery so would probably suit hikers too. It's a bit off the beaten track so probably ideal if you've a car though there is a bus that runs through the village too. The people who run it are really nice and helpful, and there's a lovely pool too.Beware who you book with though, there are limited check-in times and I booked through an agent that didn't tell me this and ended up without anywhere to stay the first night but that wasn't the hotel's fault.

    Pequeño paraíso escondido

    rating30 Dec 2019

A beautiful traditional spanish hotel located in the hills over looking the ocean . What a hidden paradise it is here. Very attentive staff, service. Accomadtion comfortable, clean, set in beautiful ambient surroundings. As tranquil and as peaceful as you want it to be. We hired a car and was able to travel around some days of our stay to see the island. Other days we stayed here had breakfast, continental and lunch and evening meal. Out side bar, open early till late, indoor swimming pool. We had arrived late in the evening and had forgotten to pack plug converters, in the morning the director had been and purchased us some. So grateful, nothing was too much trouble. We was looked after exceptionally well, and catered for, for us individually. So much admiration for all staff here it's been a very romantic, peaceful break. Keep up the good work, if you want to give me a job 😁 I will accept. So sad to be leaving but will be sure to return Thank you so much 😘

Great Place but Let’s Itself Down

    rating20 Jan 2018

You will need a car or a taxi to get here. The road up from the TF5 is steep and winding with hairpin bends. Once you reach the town of Icod El Alto the sat nav wants you to go down some very narrow 1 in 6 gradient roads to reach the hotel but carry on until you see a sign for a crossroads and there you will see the hotel signposted from this staggered crossroad junction. Upon arrival a friendly young woman on reception greeted us. We had booked a junior suite and she offered us the choice of two rooms. One on the ground floor and one on the 2nd floor. We picked the upstairs room 17 and it was lovely. Although dark and dimly lit (due to the ceiling being wood and beams, and shutters on the inside of the windows) it smelled nice, it was clean, the bed was massive, the bathroom was very pleasant with lots of toiletries and clean fresh towels. The walls seem solid but they do let a lot of sound through from the neighbours. The floor is all wooden and probably noisy for those in the downstairs rooms. We arrived after sundown, the next morning it was really nice to open the shutters and see Mount Teide from our large bedroom window. Breakfast: Continental style with lots of meats, slices of cheese, a good selection of fresh fruit, yogurts, 3 types of cereals, sliced bread, a toaster and a kettle with teabags. Fresh coffee in flask jugs. Fresh bottled water, fruit juices and fresh milk. There was also loads of bread rolls, butter, honey, jams, chocolate spreads. Loads of choice! There was also a big basket of prepacked croissants, its croissant roulette I’m afraid as some are plain and some have custard or chocolate in. The pool is in a covered area which was really too cold to sit in, the pool was freezing too which was a bit of a let down to be honest. There is no kettle or tea/coffee making facility in the rooms. We went to sit in the large communal lounge/bar and were offered coffee by a member of staff. We considered eating an evening meal at the hotel but 2 other couples told us they had tried it and regretted it. They both said lots of food but no flavour. So we opted to eat out. Within walking distance is a pizzeria called La Trilladora on the high street within 400 metres that served a great pizza, salad and fries with a half carafe of wine for less than 20 euros. The way we felt this place let itself down was that none of the staff spoke any English/French or German at all and for a hotel that happily accepts international guests I would have thought this would be a minimum requirement. The ability to make a cuppa in the comfort of your own room also would make a big difference. We stayed here for 5 nights. Maybe this was a little too long but having never experienced the north of the island I thought it would be a good base. Maybe next time I would just have one or two nights here. All said and done, we did like it here, a good base for exploring the north of Tenerife but bear in mind everywhere is a good distance by road either way.

very simple but also very quiet acommodation on north side of island.

    rating18 Jan 2018

its a simple hotel, nice rooms and very friendly and attentive staff. since we visited in the end of january, it might not be the best time of the year, since it was rainy and windy on tne nothcoast of tenerife. no meals included, breakfast buffett simple but useful. if you are the sportive hiking type, its wonderful, but you definetely need a car to get to places.
