Pleasant enough but some issues
28 May 2017
We visited this hotel in the middle of May 2017, knowing full well that it was situated on a business park on the edge of Lorient itself. We chose it because we couldn’t see anything more appealing in town, and we also had to consider parking up a Rolls Royce overnight. The hotel is clean and modern, although we were a little surprised at the relatively small car park, but it didn’t prove to be a problem. There didn’t appear to be a lift, but the building is only two storeys high. The receptionist didn’t speak any English, but she was friendly enough and we got to our rooms, and managed to order some drinks without any issues. We later found a very helpful lady, who may have a been a manager or supervisor, who did speak good English and she was very helpful throughout our stay. The rooms proved to be a bit of a mixed bag - they were of good size, clean and modern, with a comfortable bed and pillows. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but that wasn’t a big issue. However, the more I used the bathroom the more irritated I became. The toilet pedestal was in the corner of the bathroom as would be expected, but the wash basin sink unit was so large that it came up to within a couple of inches (about ten centimetres) or so away from my left arm. All the rooms I saw were like this. Under the sink unit was a chrome towel rail for hand towels. This meant that I had to be careful that I didn’t bring my arm round quickly because if I had, I would have hurt my arm on the sink unit - this may not seem a problem until you notice that the toilet roll was in a circular holder fitted to the wall UNDER the sink unit. On a personal note, I had had a motorbike accident a week earlier and I had injured my left arm and still had a tender bruise on it, so I really did notice how close that sink unit was because I hit my arm a couple of times. This whole situation could have been avoided by having a slightly smaller sink unit and a toilet roll holder on the wall rather than under the sink unit. We drove into town in the evening in search of bars and a restaurant. We weren’t overly impressed by anything we saw, so we went back to the hotel for dinner. The staff had also told us that the bar would remain open until 11.00 pm, so at least we could relax after dinner without worrying about driving.Dinner was okay but nothing special, but it was nice enough and there was plenty of it.And now for my second gripe. At the end of the evening there was a couple at the bar drinking and talking to the hotel staff. One of my friends and I were finishing off a bottle of wine, and had just emptied our glasses when the couple at the bar left for their room. It was only 10.45 so we thought we’d have one last glass of wine, but the staff told us the bar was closed!! It was supposed to close at 11.00 pm but they had shut early. We couldn’t see the problem, because the staff left our used glasses on the table so two more wouldn’t have made any difference. Now this is really annoying considering there is no other bar within walking distance and we were spending good money in that hotel. And to make matters worse, as we walked past reception the two staff were outside smoking and chatting - their smoking was obviously more important to them than their customers! Now onto breakfast. There was quite a spread of the expected breads, cereals, fruits, yoghurt, etc, but hardly any cold meat or cheese, except a few slices of one variety of cheese, and a rather unappealing ham. I find it hard to believe that that part of France has suddenly become healthy, vegetarian and, dare I say it, boring! However, I shall end on a high note and say thank you to the lovely lady who not only spoke English, but was also very polite and pleasant to us during our stay.

Really friendly staff. Very good situation for the Interceltic festival.

Very near the town centre so it is a very good situation if you want to attend the interceltic festival in Lorient. Very easy access to wheelchairs. The staff is really friendly. Breakfast very good - very wide choice of bread, cereals, fruit .... and drinks.

Good as a base
06 Sept 2013
Hotel absolutely fine in terms of standard of rooms, choice of breakfast, cleanliness, parking and helpfulness of staff. Not a location for idyllic walks after dinner etc but great as a base. We stayed for one night after a friends wedding and it is good value.

Excellent and not too far from town
14 Aug 2013
We stayed in this hotel during the Interceltique Festival and it ticked all the boxes for us. Very clean, and certainly comfortable for a budget hotel. Good bar service, and breakfast buffet had everything anyone could want including crepes, fruit, viennoiserie, cold meats, cheese, breakfast cereal etc etc. easy to get in and out of town by bus (several bus stops only 5 mins walk), which saved taking the car at such a busy period. Although hotel was full throughout the week we stayed, it was quiet and there were plenty of car parking spaces available. A real positive is the charming, well informed and efficient staff, especially the front desk staff. We were slightly disappointed that the restaurant wasn't serving meals during the festival, but there is plenty of choice in town. Highly recommend.

Place was nice, shame about the location

Stayed here for two nights.First noticed the relatively small car park, if the hotel was busy you may find it difficult to find somewhere close to have the car.Check in was smooth and friendly. Limited English, but enought to get me checked in.The room was large (double bed and single) with no air conditioning. The window opened to a view of the road, but the traffic noise was not too bad. The bathroom was of a reasonable size and had space to lay out my toiletries and more. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.Breakfast was fairly basic, but had a reasonable choice of continental breakfast and cerials.Location was the only real aspect that let this hotel down. you do need a car or pay for a taxi to get anywhere. It is on the edge of an industrial area and if you didn't want to eat at the hotel then the choice was a poor chinese buffet across the roundabout or KFC!
