  Basic facilities (no kettle!), but very spacious room, interesting bathroom, massive comfortable bed and very helpful reception!

  I’m very disappointed with my stay at Casual de las Civilizaciones Valencia.Check-in was poorly handled. We arrived at the stated check-in time of 2:00pm but were left waiting until 3:30pm before being told we could access the room, with no explanation or apology.On the first morning, the hairdryer in our room malfunctioned badly, emitting sparks and smoke and tripping the entire room’s electricity. This was a serious safety concern. There were no staff on site, so we had to message for assistance and were told the electrics would be fixed shortly. I was out for the day and expected this to be resolved.However, when I returned at 8:30pm, the room was still without electricity. I had to chase again as there was no one on site. We had to sit darkness before the power was finally restored, which gave us just one working socket. Even then, no replacement hairdryer was provided.In addition, there was no housekeeping service during our stay. As a result, we did not receive clean, dry towels, which added further inconvenience and frustration.Between the delayed check-in, lack of on-site support, absence of basic housekeeping, and a dangerous electrical fault that left us without power for most of the day, our stay was significantly impacted. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

  I stayed here for four nights. Out of the four, three nights were without Wi-Fi even though the hotel promised Wi-Fi. But the most problematic issue happened the first night. I was sleeping at 2 AM and the receptionist walked into my room with other guests unaccounted. When I told her to step outside as I am not wearing clothes properly, she would not leave until I showed her my passport. Keep in mind that I checked-in properly. Even if I were not, the common courtesy is to let another person wear clothes first before talking. This entire experience coloured the trip for me. While the amenities are okay, because of this reason, I would never stay at a hotel of this brand again.

  Stayed here for 7 nights.This place isn't far from the airport (15 mins by taxi) and is situated in a good location having two supermarkets (Lidl & Consum), food take outs/dine in, and also bus stops nearby to take you to the city center or any other location in Valencia. Staff were helpful and all the establishment, including rooms were always kept clean. There is a machine outside this hostel to assist in the check in/out process, if the reception is not available. We had a room for 2 with our own bathroom. The room was spacious for us with a very huge bed including a desk, chair and hangers to keep your clothes. Room was also equipped with AC which was very useful in the heated days. We really appreciated the warm welcome we received, as when we entered the room we found a personalised note including two small muffins waiting for us. This was a sweet touch and unfortunately we never experienced something as sweet, not even in four stars hotel. Only reason I did not give a 5 rating was that the toilet had no extractor and / or window but other then that I do recommend this place if anyone wants to visit Valencia.

  We were here during fallas celebration in March 2019. A bit noisy on the street but that’s the case everywhere in VLC. 🥳Reception is only manned during office hours but everything is foreseen for late arrival or departure. Nice staff, they keep in touch on beforehand and reply swiftly to messages (WhatsApp)Nice rooms.
