    Horror

    rating28 May 2026

Absolutely terrible experience. When I arrived, my room had a very strong smell of cannabis, mixed with an overwhelming chemical odor that seemed to be an attempt to cover it up. The room itself was in poor condition: damaged flooring in several areas, dirty walls with black marks, and a general lack of cleanliness and maintenance. For the price charged, it was completely unacceptable. When I asked to change rooms, the situation became even worse. I got trapped in the elevator on the 14th floor. I managed to get out, but then had to carry my luggage down 14 flights of stairs with my luggage. Despite this, the manager refused to believe me, both about the smell in the room and about the elevator incident. She repeatedly said that an investigation would be needed before she would accept what I was reporting. The way I was treated by management was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. When I explained that I recognized the smell of cannabis because I had previously worked in law enforcement because she did not believe me it was smelling majijuana, the manager became hostile and told me that she did not care what I had done in my country and that I was making things up. At no point did I mention any hard drugs. I only reported the strong smell of cannabis in my room, yet I was treated as if I were making outrageous accusations.I requested to leave the hotel and receive a refund. At first, the manager refused, but eventually agreed. The refund had to be approved through Hotels.com, and while I was on the phone with them trying to resolve the situation, the manager repeatedly came over to where I was sitting and told me to leave the property. I felt pressured and unwelcome while simply trying to sort out the issue.Another strange part of the experience was that the manager repeatedly told me that I would not receive any compensation. The problem is that I never asked her for compensation. Hotels.com independently decided to offer assistance based on the circumstances. Nevertheless, she continued insisting that I would not receive anything, which felt unnecessary and confrontational. The only positive part of this experience was Hotels.com. Their customer service responded quickly, listened to my concerns, and did everything they could to help me. Their professionalism and support were very reassuring during an otherwise stressful and unpleasant experience.I would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances. Between the poor condition of the room, the safety concerns, the lack of cleanliness, and the unacceptable attitude of management, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.

    It’s ok

    rating05 Apr 2026

You can hear every footstep and word spoken from upstairs and outside the door. There were tonnes of stag dos so it was pretty hard to sleep. Funny sewage smell a few times a day from inside the building not outside. Very dated fixtures. The bath was not waterproofed at all so every shower there was masses of water on the floor. The food was really good though and the location is ok, in hindsight would have preferred to be in old town.
