  Many pluses a couple of minuses

  Picked this hotel purely because it was IHG and I’m a diamond elite member even though I wondered if it might be a bit far outFound nothing to worry about. Very easy to access via the number 10 tram line from around the corner, 3 mins walk, that goes right into the city at main train station and shopping area. Easy to get from the airport though the hotel could make it sound easier on their website - metro from airport to Xàtiva station and then an underground like to the number 10 tram , one ticket takes you straight through Around the hotel there are lots with a great shopping centre and carrefour next door, many big tourist things in the area and easy to get to the beach and even the abandoned f1 track via that number 10 tram - all this makes the hotel a great choice for getting around to all areasSmall swimming pool was closed for winter but did have loungers which would be a plus for manyThe main areas look great, the rooms need some work but are clean and bed is comfortable. Bathroom has a bath with a shower over it rather than walk in shower you normally get in express hotels.Areas to work on are it’s a noisy hotel with thin walls, not helped by wooden floors in rooms , I could hear other guests conversations and children crying. Curtains arnt good enough to keep the light out - esp with a Burger King drive through outside that opens late and very lit up. No English channels on tv at all, not even a news channelStaff were very helpful when I added an extra night on, free breakfast was usual express style and no problems getting a table throughOverall id return and recommend it but hopefully the hotel can work on the minus points above

  Perfect location. Quiet and cleanFriendly staff. No frills, but you are not paying for frills (Though it wasn't as cheap as I'd have liked). Good sleep, air-con, shower and bath, kettle (no fridge). Left a jacket behind on the bed, emailed and they found it. Might not be so lucky in a bigger hotel. I would stay here again.

  An excellent budget hotel for our 4 night stay. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our room (408) was very clean and had a nice view towards the Science Park. Breakfast was great with plentiful choices of breads, pasties, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and hard boiled eggs, ham and cheese. Pool area very pleasant.Easy access to bus and metro in to the City or to the beach. Science Park a short walk away. The Shopping Centre has a number of bars, cafes and restaurants. For us the only down side was that we didn’t find any bars or restaurants within walking distance that were open in the evening as the area is obviously a business district - reminded us of being downtown in the States.15-20 minute taxi from the Airport approx €30 with tip.

  If I were able to give this property less than one star, I would. I need to preface my review by saying we did not stay at this hotel and now I am glad we didn't . I had made two separate reservations for my wife and I, and another for my daughter and her husband. We had reserved a room for us for August 25th to August 28th. I made a reservation for my daughter for August 26th to August 28th. Somehow, when I input the data for 2 rooms for 4 people, it came back as 3 rooms for 6 people. I tried to call Holiday Inn to cancel one room (I was NOT able to do so on their site). The customer service person told me they could not do anything, due to the fact there were no rooms available to cancel and rebook. Instead, I'd have to talk to the hotel themselves. The gentleman patched me through to the hotel. I talked to a supervisor who told me they cannot change one of the reservations from two rooms to one. She instructed me to call Customer Care. I told her I did and Customer Care said there were no rooms available. She replied there were rooms available, and there must be a problem with the website. I then informed her that wasn't my problem. She then told me the rate at this time for a room was 600 Euros per night....for a Holiday Inn Express! Are you kidding me!! For that price, we may as well stay at the Ritz Carlton. I then said to the lady at the hotel, "so, you'd rather have an empty room, then simply cancel one room and re-book the other one to someone else? Does that make any sense to you?" She said that's the way system works with them. After repeatedly stating I didn't understand why that can't be done, she continually stated there was nothing she can do. Eventually, she hung up on both me and the customer service agent at Holiday Inn. Although I should have done my homework more by looking at the TripAdvisor reviews before I reserved the rooms, I learned my lesson after looking the reviews now. TRUST the negative reviews on this property, because they are dead accurate.   5 minute walk to the incredible Science park etc2 minute walk to El Saler shopping centre with Carrefour Hypermarket.3 mins to restaurants & bars. (Elbar great)In a residential area, very authentic & untouristy.Hotel & room very clean.Room 411, perfect for my husband & I, spacious, large double bed, v comfy, little sofa, great aircon & fabulous view towards the Science Park. All staff friendly, helpful and efficient.Breakfast fresh & plentiful.Loved our stay here.
