Comfortable stay, perfect location - Valencia

    rating13 Apr 2026

The hostel is modern, comfortable and fresh, with new furniture, excellent amenities and lovely entertainment. In fact, the Purple Nest gives more than many hotels. The young people who work there are the best and everything from check in to check out is well organized. There is a well equipped kitchen with everything you need, laundry room and a hidden garden on the first floor. We stayed in a double room with our own bathroom, which was very clean and spacious. The hostel has a perfect location near the old city and Turia park, and direct transport to the beaches, Oceanografic, train station and the airport. There is a supermarket Consum 5 min walking distance. We enjoyed our stay in the Purple nest hostel and I will recommend this place to everyone.

Half Hostel Issues, Half Visitors Issues

    rating21 Feb 2026

Very conflicted.I only got a pillow and a bedsheet. I had to find a pillowsheet and a bedcover by myself. Furthermore, there were no curtains and the bedside lights were very bright, which led to other people turning them off when my back was turned as they couldn't sleep. That meant I couldn't stay up after they went to sleep either. The breakfast wasn't anything amazing, it wasn't the worst either, though. The staff was slow in refilling the trays with food. You had to walk up to them once they walked by and ask for a specific food to be replenished. Otherwise you'd wait forever.Hygiene was questionable. Once I saw an employee use gloves when handling food, then wipe down a counter, then handle food again... without changing her gloves. The worst part were the other people staying at the hostel. There were many people, especially men, who did not shower at all and the room smelled because of that. They also smoked inside the room and pretended they weren't when you called them out. Some people turned off your light and berated you if you woke up before them, even if it was outside of quiet hours. And there were loud groups of people in the hallway at times. The staff didn't do anything about any of those, and while I understand their capabilities do not extend to all of these situations, they do extend to some. It felt like those smelly people were on-and-off living there. I do wonder if that's where the "single stay can last 15 days maximum" rule comes from? The shared space downstairs was somewhat uninviting. It was more of a dining hall than anything else and it felt uncomfortable. Most people used their phones very loudly there. I was very happy to be going home. There was also mold in the shower cabin and the bathroom often smelled. The toilet paper dispensers often didn't dispense paper (due to someone having ripped paper wrongly), and there was no paper outside of dispensers, which was very aggravating.Prepare for a deposit for a locker key and lock and a deposit for a room card. One of the surrounding lockers opened when my father was opening his, making a gash on his leg. That's unsafe! These things are heavy. They also work only if you press onto them, sometimes. It felt like, since we went outside of the season, the staff was half-hearted. It wasn't very clean, they worked very slowly and while they were kind, it didn't undo all of the difficulties we faced during our days there. The localisation is great, though, I can't disagree with that. And they have WiFi.

Absolutely brilliant. Went on their organised pub crawl so good for getting a feel of the city’s night life. Facilities are clean and hostel beds are actually comfy which is such a nice change. Good kitchen that has a fridge and storage for everyone. Handy for making a holiday cheap. Locations quite central with good bus connections
