  I am satisfied with my one night stay in this hostel. We booked a 6 bed female dorm and we were just 3 which was good. It was spacious and the bathroom inside it is also big. People at the reception were kind and answered our questions about the public transport and let my friend leave her luggage there after check out. The hostel works with a code for the main door and one for the bedroom door. Our only complaint was the beds which made noise when we moved. So it can easily wake others up. And also the location is a bit strange but very central.

  We cannot recommend this hostel at all. First of all, the location is awful. In order to get to the old town you have to walk through a "ghetto", it was actually terrifying and someone tried to rob us during daytime! Also, around the hostel, strange people are hanging around. Then the staff wasn't friendly at all, just sitting there and didn't really care. No backpacker atmosphere at all. One of the sheets had blood on it. The bathrooms were dirty and the electricity plug was ripped out of the wall.

  I have worked and stayed in many different hostels and for sure can say this one is really nice. Clean, safe, friendly staff! Especially the Italian guy at the reception - very kind and sweet. I hope to go back again.

  We stayed there for 3 nights and we couldn’t be happier. If you are looking for a hostel to stay the night near pretty much everything in Bilbao this one is great. The beds are pretty comfortable, the price is very good, but in my opinion the staff was the best: when we arrived, they recommended us a lot of places to see during our stay, they treated us very well and they were there to help us when we needed them.

  We really enjoyed our stay at Bilbao Metropolitan Hostel! We were with a group of 30 people and stayed here for one week. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The facilities in the common room are good, you can use the computers and print for a small price (e.g. for printing boarding passes). The kitchen is equipped with enough plates and cups to make breakfast and there is plenty of fridge space. No stove, but this was not an issue for us and we knew about it in advance. The hostel’s location is excellent, easy to reach with public transport and a short walk from the city centre and the old town. The rooms and bathroom look new and clean, it’s very practical to have plugs by the side of each bed to charge your phone. Furthermore, opening doors with codes instead of keys or key cards is very practical, especially considering the amount of people that are in one room. Overall, we would definitely recommend Bilbao Metropolitan Hostel.
