Most of the way west to Benavente is boring, but the last bit is nice. Having been here before I kinda remembered the small ring road, get here. Easy Check in.Nice room on 3rd Floor, overlooking Pool with sun al afternoon.Usual Safe and fridge with cold drinks.Double Shower was excellent. Evening meal was very nice, very little English, so brush up your Spanish. Nice relaxed Breakfast then off to Portugal.

Convenient place to stop

Easy to find, plenty of free parking on street leading to hotel. Built as an extension to an ancient tower (which had a lovely ceiling on one of its floors). All hotel very clean. Our superior room was large, on the ground floor, and opened out onto the garden and adjacent pool, which was very nice . Usual excellent Parador breakfast, but we were disappointed by our evening meal on our first night. I had roast suckling lamb, which I had expected to be tender, but it definitely was not. My wife had the quinoa salad, which had obviously been pre-prepared, which is fair enough, but it was served straight out of the fridge, which made it unpleasantly cold to eat. We cancelled our meal on the other night we had booked. The town is only a short walk away on the other side of the adjacent public garden.Our stay was unfortunately completely spoiled by our experience on our last day. there was a wedding (which is common in Paradors), but it was accompanied by over amplified loud music which lasted from mid afternoon until 2 am next morning. It started a few yards away from the pool (on the other side of a hedge) which ruined sitting in the garden, then continued in the bottom of the tower, which was not far from our room, so disturbed our sleep. I feel strongly that Paradors should warn people when they book if there is likely to be an event which might disturb their stay (we would have left a day earlier if we had known in advance). We would advise checking before you book at this hotel. Weddings at other Paradors have been better organised.

Large and luxury room. Good restaurant. Friendly staff. Limited parking facilities. Quiet location with nice garden.

Excellent Parador, modern but retaining it's history

A great parador. We were here 35 years ago - it was good to return. It has been modernised - the room was fantastic - 310. Such an elegant bathroom with great tiling, twin sinks and oddly twin showers with rainforest effect. Plus an electric bidet toilet! The building retains it's ancient charm - vaulted ceilings, suits of armour and the magnificent tower. The staff were excellent. Very helpful - especially in enabling us to exchange our Amigos points for an evening meal. ( It was not a very easy process - come on HQ make it much easier!).The food was great - esp the duo of morcilla & lamb dishes. The breakfast was excellent & the staff very helpful. As usual with all the five Paradors that we've stayed in there are not enough staff. With a packed hotel two bar staff & two breakfast staff are insufficient. Take note HQ!.Shame the pool was closed but I suppose the season has to end somewhere.We enjoyed the guest salon with it's card table, a nice escape.As with most Paradors there is no provision for EV charging.We highly recommend this amazing Parador!
