  The hotel is located on a hill on the outside of a little town. On arrival there was no space to park the car. A few cars were parked in front of the hotel and other were parked on the narrow sidewalks of the narrow street leading to the hotel. The lady at the reception explained that the hotel did not have its own parking, and the whole area was public. The police comes often to check and those parking on sidewalks would get a fine. The whole area is badly lighted during the night, and we did not find it safe to park there. The problem is that such important parking information is not available on this paradors internet site. Otherwise we would not have booked our stay here. The reception said that the internet site was not her responsability, instead of saying that she would transmit our complain to the paradors director. Her attitude was like "take it or leave it". We had have to have help to use the television, since they use a special control system. No english channels were avaiable. On the positive side the breakfast was very god and the service there was on top. However we will not come back.   Good croquettes, very good morcilla

  Last year we (family of 5) stayed overnight here but this year, expanding three generation family to 7 only had lunch as the first stop of our road trip from Madrid to Gijon on the north coast of Asturias. We were disappointed that the dining room no longer offers the gigantic ham croquettes, but the smaller ones were excellent. The other outstanding offering was the plate of various types of blood sausage/black pudding. There is construction going on so it was an uphill slog from road side parking to the entrance, a bit hard for those in their 80's.

  The hotel is currently carrying out works in the outside areas but this does not impact upon the internal workings of the establishment.Unfortunately the hotel cannot decide which season it is catering for. The outside pool is not in use “as it is too early in the season” but there is no heating on in the building and the hot water/showers is just barely warm.It’s a lovely, old building in very good condition with large bedrooms overlooking the town.There is a self service buffet for breakfast and the quality of the evening meal is very good.All in all it would be a good hotel if it had some heating….   Short Motorcycle Trip Spain Sept 2025

  Most of the way west to Benavente is boring, but the last bit is nice. Having been here before I kinda remembered the small ring road, get here. Easy Check in.Nice room on 3rd Floor, overlooking Pool with sun al afternoon.Usual Safe and fridge with cold drinks.Double Shower was excellent. Evening meal was very nice, very little English, so brush up your Spanish. Nice relaxed Breakfast then off to Portugal.   Convenient place to stop

  Easy to find, plenty of free parking on street leading to hotel. Built as an extension to an ancient tower (which had a lovely ceiling on one of its floors). All hotel very clean. Our superior room was large, on the ground floor, and opened out onto the garden and adjacent pool, which was very nice . Usual excellent Parador breakfast, but we were disappointed by our evening meal on our first night. I had roast suckling lamb, which I had expected to be tender, but it definitely was not. My wife had the quinoa salad, which had obviously been pre-prepared, which is fair enough, but it was served straight out of the fridge, which made it unpleasantly cold to eat. We cancelled our meal on the other night we had booked. The town is only a short walk away on the other side of the adjacent public garden.Our stay was unfortunately completely spoiled by our experience on our last day. there was a wedding (which is common in Paradors), but it was accompanied by over amplified loud music which lasted from mid afternoon until 2 am next morning. It started a few yards away from the pool (on the other side of a hedge) which ruined sitting in the garden, then continued in the bottom of the tower, which was not far from our room, so disturbed our sleep. I feel strongly that Paradors should warn people when they book if there is likely to be an event which might disturb their stay (we would have left a day earlier if we had known in advance). We would advise checking before you book at this hotel. Weddings at other Paradors have been better organised.
