    Old world Charm in Zaragoza

    rating20 Apr 2026

What a gem of a hotel! We stayed here over Easter weekend 2026 and throughly enjoyed it! I This hotel has old world charm in a completely updated and sophisticated manner. Everything was very clean and well presented. The rooms are spacious. nicely decorated and have fully equipped bathrooms. The reception area has a comfortable area for relaxing. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. It is plentiful and has a huge variety including fresh squeezed orange juice! Lovely presentation and very attentive and polite staff. The receptionists are all multi lingual, knowledgeable and kind. They very patiently gave us tips as to what to see and the best ares for drinks and tapas. We are so glad to have found this property and hope to visit again soon! ( One suggestion, try to visit during Easter as the processions are numerous and so unique and start at the church right adjacent to this hotel. Enjoy!) ignacio guinea ochoa, Director General at Hotel Catalonia El Pilar, responded to this review Dear Elisabeth,Thank you so much for your positive review of our hotel. Nice location, but hotel could be improved

    rating29 Mar 2026

Great location, right in the city center, close to the main attractions. The city of Zaragoza doesn't offer many hotel options, so although it's not excellent, it's probably one of the best options in the city. Very simple, confusing breakfast, few staff, few fruit options. Small room. The hotel as a whole would benefit from a retrofit. ignacio guinea ochoa, Director General at Hotel Catalonia El Pilar, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you very much for your high rating. We are pleased that you had a good stay and highlighted our central location. We will inform our Food and Beverage department about the breakfast. We would like to let you know that the hotel has 30 renovated premium rooms available for a supplement of €15. You can book them for your next stay.Thank you very much, and we hope you will visit us again soon.

    Classy Hotel

Excellent location close to the Plaza and main shopping centre but quiet at the same time. We had a spacious room overlooking the square in front of the Hotel with little or no traffic noise. Friendly and helpful staff and lovely breakfast. Highly recommended. ignacio guinea ochoa, Director General at Hotel Catalonia El Pilar, responded to this review Dear Guest Thank you very much for your five stars. Excellent hotel

    rating23 Feb 2026

Great location, close to the major sights. The sound insulation from the street was excellent. There was a festival the two nights we were there, with an installation in the square outside the hotel. I am a light sleeper - but zero issues here with getting to sleep and staying asleep.Reception staff are excellent.Spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed.The safe had a plug socket and two USB ports inside, so I could charge my iPad while I was out. There were six other USB ports in the room, at the desk and by the bed and plenty of electric sockets too. WiFi was excellent.Café Gusto up the street near the market serves great coffee and croissants. We will definitely return to Catalonia El Pilar! ignacio guinea ochoa, Director General at Hotel Catalonia El Pilar, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you so much for your top rating and such a positive review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and that you highlighted the friendliness of our staff. Our central location, our double-glazed windows, and our premium rooms and amenities.Thank you very much, and we hope you will continue to recommend us.

    convenient location

    rating25 Dec 2025

The location of this hotel is quite charming and convenient, though we did have to take a circuitous route to get to and from the parking garage. There is a beautiful church on the same square of the hotel, and it is centrally situated and a short walk to many things we wanted to visit in Zaragoza. We were worried about checking in with our rental car, but we were able to pull up temporarily and get checked in before driving to the nearby parking garage. The staff at the desk were a study in contrast. One guy seems like he is in the wrong profession and appeared to be fatigued by any question or request we made. The other guy was very friendly and helpful, and I was glad he was the person with whom we checked out.The room was comfortable and tasteful, and we had a window looking out to the square below which was lovely. The building’s exterior architecture is elegant, and the room itself was quiet. The wifi worked fine, but the television had a spotty connection. Sometimes it worked fine and at other times the satellite or cable connection was off and it resulted in a pixilated screen.Across from the hotel is a great coffee shop for coffee and pastries. We did not try the hotel breakfast since our stay was brief and we wanted to try local cafes and restaurants. All in all, we were fairly pleased with the place, and we enjoyed being able to walk to several nearby shops, restaurants and historic sites. ignacio guinea ochoa, Director General at Hotel Catalonia El Pilar, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you so much for your excellent rating. We are delighted that you had a pleasant stay, especially considering our central location. We regret your comment about one receptionist being friendly and another not. We will speak to them about it. We apologize and thank you for your feedback.Thank you again, and we hope you will visit us again soon.
