Exceptional stay with my family. The kids loved the indoor pool while we enjoyed the peace and comfortable beds in our room. The front desk staff went out of their way to guide us through local spots, and the breakfast buffet was better than expected. We plan to return next summer.

Mixed experience: We stayed at the Mirage Hotel Colombo for 14 days over three occasions during our recent Sri Lanka tour. It was a mixed experience. Positives:Stunning ocean views straight from our room.Excellent service from most staff members—special kudos to Warun, Gajendra and Thashmika.Gajendra the operations manager who kindly arranged string hoppers and hoppers for us in the breakfast buffet after we raised concerns. Negatives: Limited breakfast: The spread felt heavily tailored to Indian cuisine (mostly paratha and dosai) rather than authentic Sri Lankan staples like Kiribath or Pittu.On our final day Hopper station was not ready until 7.30 am. F&B Manager's attitude: He was unapproachable and selective, interacting with some guests while completely ignoring others. He needs to chill out and treat all guests equally.Property condition: The hotel is showing its age and definitely needs a facelift.Worn out towels in the room. Towels were all discoloured. Definitely needs replacement. While we appreciate the standout staff members, the hotel needs to diversify its menu and refresh its management style and property.
