Good location, but with a few details that could be improved.

    rating30 May 2026

There were a few things I missed in the room. For example, more space to hang my clothes or put things away. I don’t like having to keep my suitcase open on the floor all the time.I also missed having a refrigerator so I could keep drinks cold.I would have appreciated the option to make coffee in the room.I also missed having an extra towel or a bath mat/towel to place on the floor after showering, as the floor gets wet and is very cold.Almost all of the staff were friendly. Special credit to ”F”, who was very pleasant during check-in, and to the waiter who served me dinner that same evening. The elevators felt dirty and worn. The control panel was sticky and unclean. However, the room itself felt clean and well maintained. Marcus Andersson, Gästservice/reception at Scandic Europa, responded to this review Hi Therese F,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. We truly appreciate your insights, as they help us improve the experience for all our guests. We are sorry to hear that certain elements in the room did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the lack of storage space, refrigerator, and in-room coffee facilities are well noted. We understand how these amenities can enhance comfort during a stay, and we will take your feedback into consideration as we continue to develop our rooms and services. We also apologize for the inconvenience caused by the lack of an extra towel or bath mat. This is something we can always provide upon request, and we will work on making this clearer to our guests. At the same time, we are very happy to hear that you found the room itself clean and well maintained. Cleanliness is extremely important to us, and your kind words in this area are greatly appreciated.Thank you as well for your kind recognition of our staff. We are especially pleased to hear that “F” made a positive impression during check-in, and that you enjoyed your dinner service. We will be sure to pass on your praise to them—it truly means a lot to our team.We are, however, concerned to hear about your experience with the elevators. Cleanliness in all areas of the hotel is a top priority, and your comments have been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams for immediate review and action.Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an even better stay.Best Regards,Scandic Europa

    Crappy room and avarage breakfast

    rating09 May 2026

The location is good, right next to the central station. However, the hotel (that used to be quite good) has declined. The room was shabby and uncozy, there was black mold in the bathroom. There was a flood on the floorwhen I had a shower. The breakfast was avarage, but the price is ridiculous. Alma Malkki, Gästservice/reception at Scandic Europa, responded to this review Hi 942fredrikp,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, especially regarding the condition of the room and bathroom. Issues such as mold and water leakage are certainly not acceptable, and we understand how this affected your overall experience. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention, as it helps us identify where improvements are needed. Your comments have been shared with the relevant teams for immediate follow-up and review. We’re glad you appreciated our central location, but we regret that the rest of your stay did not reflect the standard we aim to provide. Thank you again for your honest feedback.Best regards,Scandic Europa

The best weekend getaway from Oslo to Gothenburg!

    rating03 May 2026

Location was a huge factor for me, and being just a few steps from the central station was perfect. The atmosphere was amazing, and our room actually exceeded our expectations! This was easily one of our best stays compared to other hotels. It is definitely value for money—clean and quiet, despite being right in the heart of the city. The amenities are enough reason to come back soon! Service was top-notch." It’s not worth it at all

    rating01 Apr 2026

We had a small welcome fruit and cheese platter in the room. When we left to go shopping, someone came in and took it away without telling us—almost like a ninja. It was probably meant for another room, but it felt like a very cheap move. I would have gladly paid for it.Don’t waste your time if you’re traveling with family. Be careful not to get charged twice for parking, and the noisy beds can make it hard for kids to sleep. Alma Malkki, Gästservice/reception at Scandic Europa, responded to this review Dear masie2026,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and that your stay did not meet expectations. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the fruit and cheese platter. This is certainly not the experience we want to provide, and we understand how this situation may have felt. We will review this internally to ensure clearer communication and better handling going forward. We also regret the concerns you raised about parking charges and the comfort of the beds. Your comments are important to us, and we will take them into account as we work to improve both our service and facilities.Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Please feel free to contact us directly so we can follow up on your experience.Best Regards,Scandic Europa
