  Solid stay, shame about the noise disruption

  Walking from the train station we could see in the distance the large glass covered Scandic Central, quite an impressive building, on arrival check-in was not possible until 1600, a strict policy on our day, so we stored our luggage and went off and explored. Our room on the eighth floor was spacious, inward facing a courtyard, high concrete walls and ceilings, spotless, bath over the shower, casting and streaming TV services, but no refrigerator, tea/coffee making facilities or basin plug (hot water is available near reception). The bed and pillows were most comfortable, my only grievance was the intrusion of noise from the rooftop bar up until midnight on the first night, on the second night the music was excessive and started at 1600, fortunately it ended at 2130 as it would have been impossible to sleep, luckily our last night was a Sunday when the rooftop bar is closed! Breakfast was the highlight of our stay, while the dining room is huge it has been designed well, broken up into small and intimate spaces. There was a great variety of food and drinks, I missed out on bacon on two of the three mornings due to its popularity, I especially loved the overnight oats, chai seed pudding, bread and butter pudding. MOH enjoyed the crepes.The hotel is located on the edge of the city centre, ten minute walk from the bus and train station and a major shopping centre using the underground passageway outside the train station.Because of the discomfort to our stay by the excessive music noise from the rooftop bar I have marked the stay 3 out of 5.   Ok tourist hotel. Large. Possible to park cheap near by. I forgot my caps at my room but when i called them about it later the same day, they could not find it ..   Visited as a family of 4. Staff very welcoming Room excellent - so clean. Little kids play room by reception which was a great touch. Very stylish hotel and a short walk to the centre. Wonderful breakfast selection. Wouldn’t hesitate to stop here again.   Lovely hotel but a few issues

  We stayed here as a family and loved the spacious and new feeling room. The breakfast was also great with so much choice and never felt too busy. Howwver we had an issue with the shower in our room- it didn’t work. I tried calling reception four times, and also went down but the queue was absolutely massive so I gave up.
