Good, solid Scandic hotel

This is a great hotel in the heart of Göteborg, and perfect if you want to explore the city or visit the popular attractions of Liseberg and Universum. The hotel is good value for money and the room was presented well. I particularly liked the facilities to make your own tea and coffee. On arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming. An extra member of staff was available to help with the storage which was a nice touch. This gentlemen was v friendly.Breakfast was good and offered the usual Swedish hotel breakfast options. The outer bar terrace space was comfortable.One tip is that when you arrive at breakfast, there are two buffet areas. Take the one on the right close to the windows as you walk out of the lifts, as this side had more and better options. Also, they recommend avoiding times 09:00-11:00 as they are the busiest. From what we saw, it was actually quieter at this time and you may want to avoid between 08:00-09:00 when the majority of small kids are eating (it was chaos when we arrived at 09:00 but quickly emptied so we had a peaceful breakfast without screaming unsupervised kids running around in the end)Overall this is a good Scandic hotel and I would recommend it for your visit to Gothenburg.

Thoruoghly enjoyable experience at the hotel especially as we had our puppa dog with us. Would highly recommend this hotel

Air-conditioning or air-venting or something to do with air was very loud and you could not make it quiet. Tramlines are located right under window so they were quite loud also. Other than that rooms were basic quality, nothing wrong with them. Breakfast was normal Scandic-level so not any bad surprises with it

This is a small budget hotel with a rooftop bar. It was packed due to a meeting going on and occupying half of the 3rd floor. We went to Goteborgs Skargard (archipelago) via bus 3 (then 19) conveniently on Vasagatan street forLilla Varholmen: Bjorko/Hono-leden; and another bus junction was in the other direction from the hotel. However, we didn’t get sleep. The reserved breakfast was good (2nd floor 6:30-9) on weekdays (not so much on weekends when security was better). Because of the traffic noise, the only rooms worth booking would have had no street view—room numbers higher than 657 only. For a limited number of rooms besides family units, you’re left hoping for no snorers; as I could hear partying/drunken screaming and vomiting from the room next door, through paper thin walls there was no chance of my getting any sleep after 33 hours of travel/flight delay. Nothing was done by front desk to remedy the situation, except offering ear plugs, which I already had at 4:30 am—when the heater shut off too. My recommendation for sensitive sleepers is to book during quiet season when availability of rooms might allow for a room-upgrade if offered, in lieu of the factors aforementioned. Otherwise, for breakfast fare you might be convinced otherwise. Gothenburg is apparently popular with professional athletes and tourists alike, at any time of year!
