Location

This hotel is located in the Kungsholmen neighbourhood of Stockholm, within walking distance of the city centre (1 km) and next door to one of the city's main metro stations.     I very much enjoyed the room, from its fixtures and the lighting to the bedding quality and the desk/chair. The rate was very good for the quality of the room. The location is OK, could be better, but there were plenty of restaurants around and transportation around Stockholm was easy. Breakfast had everything one would expect and the quality and ambiance were very good. Wasn't happy with the shampoo in the shower, but that did not take away from an otherwise wonderful stay.

    Nonexistent room WiFi and dishonest receptionists

    No WiFi in the room2. TV is unusable3. Phone is dead4. There is a letter addressed to someone else in my room. This person checked in and then rejected the room perhaps due to the above issues. Reception then allocated this room to me as a ‘special upgrade’. 5. When I informed reception about the lack of WiFi, they lied and said none of the rooms had WiFi. This was debunked immediately as my colleagues all had WiFi access in their rooms. 6. I went back to reception and they lied a second time, that the hotel was full. However, I see rooms available to book for tonight - 16th September - on my app. Very poor amenities, and even worse receptionists. Completely unacceptable from Marriott. Stay away, especially if you’re a business traveller or need internet connectivity in your room!

    Temper your expectations and you won’t be disappointed

    Visited with my family. Booked two rooms. Typical Courtyard Marriott property. Recognized my Titanium Elite status by offering USD10 per person per night credit to be used on F&B, spa services. Friendly staff, decent breakfast. Disappointed that you have to pay extra for eggs made to order or even a cappuccino/latte. Housekeeping left a lot to be desired though, both in terms of its timeliness (or lack thereof) and cleanliness. They prioritize rooms that are being checked out and many times our rooms were not serviced until 4pm (and no, we did not have the DND sign on the door). At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. So if you temper your expectations, you probably won’t be disappointed.

    The hotel itself is very nice, with a good location, clean rooms, and a decent breakfast buffet. The cleaning staff do an excellent job of turning down the rooms each morning.Unfortunately, we experienced an issue with the sink in our room. For a time, we had to use the shower as an alternative, as there were no maintenance staff available to address the problem immediately. No offer was made to switch rooms. When the sink was eventually fixed, it still leaked, forcing us to place towels on the floor to avoid wet feet.Upon check-out, we informed the front desk of these issues. While the staff seemed grateful for the feedback, no apology or gesture of goodwill was offered. Instead, we were presented with a bill for a bottle of water we had added to our tab. It's not that the 25 SEK made a big financial impact, but waiving it would have been a simple and appreciated gesture under the circumstances.With a more sympathetic and customer-focused front desk, I would have gladly given the hotel a four or even five-star rating. However, feeling a bit shortchanged, I can only give it a three.
