Location

This hotel is centrally located in a peaceful pedestrianised street. The old town is just a short distance away and it is about 300 m to the nearest links to the public transport network (T-Centralen underground station).

Facility

494 non-smoking rooms, including 12 suites and 35 single rooms, are available to guests. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services include a baggage storage service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas (no extra charge). The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. Film fans will find plenty of 'lights, camera, action' at the cinema. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Children can enjoy the playground. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Rooms

Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A TV and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are on hand in the bathrooms for everyday use. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. 49 wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The hotel has smoking rooms.

The outdoor pool complex provides invigorating refreshment. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking and jogging are available. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy canoeing and kayaking. Sports enthusiasts are also offered a wide range of indoor activities, including a gym, table tennis, yoga, callisthenics and aerobics. A spa and a sauna are available in the wellness area. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

    Could have been great except ….

    Great location, lovely breakfast buffet. I had a larger room with comfortable room and great shower.Bath towels were a surprise, not good quality, small. Note: their luggage storage is NOT secure- the have a luggage room, guests can access and take anyone’s bag & of course the hotel is not accountable- no option / not viable to leave laptop and electronics. Bad way to end a long trip.

    The hotel location is in the middle of city centre and close to the Central Station. Positive: breakfast has great selection of food. Improvement: please add a pack of napkins and make up removal pads to the bathroom. Would be helpful.     This hotel like all in the Scandic chain provides very basic rooms and facilities at corporate prices.For the price this hotel is extremely expensive, even if it is in very central location the room and facilities are actually very basic.The rooms on Google advertises they are all fully air conditioned, this is false, the rooms have no air flow at all. There is only a heating thermostat for perimeter heating which you cannot turn off. If you open the window you will not sleep because it opens to a main road full of busy bars and restaurants and road traffic beeping there horns all through the night. The rooms are therefore very stuffy, hot and sickly.Scandic hotel advertises a pool and sauna but do not tell paying guests that it is not available as part of your stay. They make guests pay 595sek = £50 for one and a half hour use, yes really £50. Scandic advertise you get 50% discount as a guest but again this is false and you get a maximum of 10% discount as a guest.Breakfast also not included.For a price of £300+ a night, advertising hotel amenities non of which are included you can guess now I feel and why it is fair to give 0 out of 10 for Downtown Camper by Scandic. We have a central ventilation system which is almost an air conditioning but since our building is a bit older it was not added at the time.I'll share your feedback regarding the price to our wellness manager in order for us to use this going forward. Our slot times up at The Nest are 2 hours and 15 minutes and breakfast can be chosen to included or excluded. This is based on that we have many guests that don't want the breakfast and then don't want to pay for it.     Beware Pool & Sauna not available to guest extra payment required false advertising

    Rooms do not have any airflow so for air circulation we had to open the window the only issue is the noise outside car beeping at 1 am , road noises and people partying. Although when booking it shows a rooftop pool & sauna in all the pictures this is not available to guest additional charges SEK 445 off peak or SEK 595 peak apply per person for use on top of your hotel charges per 2 hour session. We travel a lot and this is the first time a hotel advertises a pool when booking and it is not available to guest so we were surprised . On checking this was in the fine print. My husband wanted to finish our scandi trip with these facilities so we decided we will pay since the hotel said it was 50% discount ( see below pic)for the spa although the pool was small and nothing too elaborate . When we went to book the lady at the spa look surprised when we mentioned the 50% discount and said it is only SEK 100 off which is approx 16%off quite different from 50%. Out of principal and due to false advertising we did not end up using the spa. It made me feel overall that the hotel advertising is dishonest and for the price we paid for the room that is noisy with false advertising of a pool which you will typically pay more for was very disappointing. We stayed in another hotel in Stockholm a week earlier on our way to visby it was SEK 1,400 ( GBP 118) cheaper came with breakfast although room was smaller it wasn’t noisy , better coffee at breakfast and they had better staff. We also stayed at Scandi in Norway for one night and the breakfast was awful. Disappointed overall with the Scandi brand.     Heartfelt hospitality at its finest

    We had such a warm welcome at this hotel that we knew straight away we had made the right choice. The staff were welcoming and keen to ensure you get the best out of the city. The hotel runs cool events, hikes into the countryside and has bikes for hire. Our room was very cosy and the breakfast each morning is amazing, a huge buffet with so many options and all diets well looked after. The location of the hotel is also perfect, just opposite the old town and perfect for strolls along the water to explore this great city. We had a great evening in 'the nest' which is an adult, no phone space with great drinks and food. 100% recommend this great hotel.
