Location

This hotel is centrally located in Östermalm in the city centre of Stockholm, not far away from the legendary Stockholm Station and the KTH Institute. An underground station is situated close by and will take guests to the central railway station within 5 min. If guests should choose to walk, they will reach the Stureplan district with its shops, museums, restaurants and the Stockholm nightlife in just 15 min. There are numerous points of interest located in the vicinity, such as The Royal Castle (4 km), Haga Park (3 km) and the Skansen Open-air Museum (2 km).

Facility

The hotel has 91 rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities.     Let me begin with 2 positives:1 - the staff was absolutely wonderful2 - even though I'm not a "breakfast" person, the breakfast buffet was very goodNOW....as for the rest of the stay - this property is a disaster. Firstly, there is no air conditioning, regardless of what you are being told. While one employee said that the lack of cooling was just "typical Swedish air conditioning" (a complete untruth), another one admitted that the air conditioning didn't work and that even though the owners were advised of this, they have chosen to ignore the problem. Aside from our problems with this, there was literally a stream of guests at the front desk complaining.The room itself was badly outdated - it could easily been mistaken to that of a budget motel in the USA. The bathroom was the tiniest I have ever encountered. I have been on cruise ships with larger bathrooms!The shower was laughingly small. I am 5'7' and 155 pounds and had a problem fitting into it. I can't even begin to imagine someone larger trying to shower.While the price for this property was certainly more affordable than many other Stockholm hotels, I would have gladly paid more for something more acceptable. Unless you're going in winter when there is no need to provide cooling for the guestrooms, I would strongly advise staying away from Elite Hotel Arcadia.

    Genuinely don’t understand the bad reviews of this hotel. I stayed on 3rd floor and my room was smart, clean and functional. Staff was super friendly and there was a great selection of good quality food at breakfast.

    Good distance to the Underground and dobro the city center of the town. The breakfast made a good start into the day. Restaurant was closed on weekends.

    Extremely poor experience with rude staff!

    Extremely basic hostel and rude staff - While the hotel is located centrally and has spacious room, the decor is outdated. The room is so basic you can’t even find a plug and would require an extension cord which the front staff has a shortage of. The key cards don’t seem to work.Worse my nightmare was the hotel staff would just barge into your room unannounced and without knocking on the door!!!! They wouldn’t apologise and also turned out they made a mistake of which room to enter.It’s a ridiculous experience that we would have be better off staying in a hostel!
