  Stockholm and a wondrful stay at the Glashus!

  We picked this hotel because it was near our freind's apartment in the Sodermalm area of Stockholm.,and it turned out to be a wonderful place. Nice room, kept clean, unbelievable breakfast, coffe and tea availble around the clock. Near the subway (Mariatorget station) and busses as well. The staff and breakfast servers were wonderful. YOu can start withwhat looks like lunch to US citizens, but is very Swedish at breakfast. Multiple breads, cut by staff or you. I started with scrambled eggs, Swedish pancakes, Swedish meatballs, and bacon. CT,AJ,OJ, water and milk. Pastries, fruit, yougurt, and other things i can't remember. We could fill up at the Glashus and not have to eat until dinner!We did have a Swedish friend to guide us, but if you are better at getting around, this got us to the Palace, museums, and boat trips with relative ease. The front desk was always helpful, and we also unjoyed a could of nearby restarants, FECA and the Half Way Inn. Acress from the Inn is a "little store" for pop, ice cream, and other tre3ats.   Very small single rooms

  Please be aware that their small single rooms are very small. Almost no room for luggage in the room and for toiletstuff in the bathroom. Pretty uncomfortably to stay in such a small room, where the only place to be is lying on the bed, as chair and floor has to be occupied by clothes and luggage. Breakfast and all other things are fine, but small single room is indeed incredible small.

  Comfortable stay in great location

  We booked a 4-night stay at the Hellstens Glashus hotel, and it was ideal for a short city break. Great location opposite the underground train station, surrounded by lovely bars and restaurants, and less than 10 minutes walk from the best sunset viewing point over Stockholm. The breakfast selection was lovely, with free tea and coffee available in reception for guests and a cosy bar downstairs if you don’t want to venture too far for a drink. The room was small but cosy, clean and warm (which is essential in February!), and the area was very quiet. The reception staff were also very friendly and gave us a lot of advice on the underground train network and good places to eat. Would definitely recommend staying here for your next visit to Stockholm.

  Ideal for a long weekend

  The hotel is in a great location in the Sodermalm area of Stockholm. Never having been before we went for a concert so only booked 2 nights and packed light. Good job we did as our room was tiny with no hanging or cupboard space. If you had a suitcase you would really struggle to put it somewhere. The furniture seemed too big for the room and mismatched. The purple and yellow colour scheme took a lot of getting used to. The eve of the roof came very close to the bed, and once in the night, I grazed it with my head turning over. There's no lock on the inside of the room door nor room safe, but we gave some valuables to reception to look after . The bathroom is a bit odd . If you have a shower, the entire bathroom, including the toilet area, is flooded. A shelf near the sink would have been helpful. On the plus side the bar was excellent as were all the staff we met , the bed was very comfortable too and so peaceful considering its a city. It's a perfect place for a short stay like ours , there's plenty of bars , cafes and restaurants in the area and a metro station about 100 metres from the hotel.

  Great location, nice staff

  Location is great - in the middle of the charming enighbourhood around Mariatorget with lots of exiting restaruants, cafes and bars. Only downside is that if your room is facing to the street there might be some noiase in the evenings. Inside decor is great and the bar is really cosy. Staff is very friendly and serviceminded. One could want more focus on climate and environment. Breakfast does not have one single product of organic origin.
