This attractive and traditional hotel is situated in the picturesque old town on the island of Gamla stan directly beside the river that lies just across the road. Superb views are to be had out over Strömmen, where the Baltic Sea and the lake of Mälaren meet. Various sights and shops are located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and the nearest underground station is Kungsträdgården.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1619. The hotel has a lift and features 144 rooms and 11 suites. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas (no extra charge). Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for a fee. Further services include a 24-hour security service, a childcare service and room service. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service (for a fee) to explore the surrounding area. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Most units have a sea view. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and a vanity mirror are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. The hotel has non-smoking rooms.

Guests can enjoy a selection of sport and entertainment options. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including a gym and a sauna.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a non-smoking restaurant, a café and a bar. A generous breakfast buffet, brunch, lunch and a dinner à la carte offer plenty of delicious variety. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    Disappointing. We expected a 5-star hotel. This hotel is not one. While the concierge and the breakfast were both top-notch, the front desk service was very mediocre. The woman who checked us in made several mistakes on our reservation regarding whether our reservation included breakfast. Luckily we had written confirmation that it did. When my wife was unhappy with our room because it was right next to the elevator, she asked for another room - the woman said none were available (then we heard her an hour or so later offer another room to a gentleman who was unhappy with his room). They also offered no help with luggage. We paid the exorbitant price for laundry, but when they were done (late) they called us and told us we could pick it up from the desk, rather than delivering. Just not a 5-star hotel. If you expect something less, you probably won't be disappointed.     Nice hotel but queen room felt very tight and small. They give you a tea kettle, which is very convenient and instant coffee In the room.Concierge multiple were excellent in terms of advising way to go and what to do. Front staff overall were very friendly and helpful.     A Hotel With a Warm Soul

    As our Scandinavian journey came to an end, we found ourselves at Hotel Reisen in Stockholm, and in many ways, it was the perfect ending.As frequent travelers, and as Indians who have grown up with exceptionally high standards of hospitality, we rarely find hotels outside India that make us feel genuinely welcomed. Hospitality can be efficient, professional, and polished, yet still feel transactional. Hotel Reisen was different.From the moment we arrived, there was a sense that the people here were truly invested in making our stay memorable. Mimi, Eric, Matthews, Alexander, Daniel, Bosto, Miguel, Nargis, and the entire teams at reception and the restaurant created an experience that felt thoughtful at every step. Every interaction reflected warmth, attentiveness, and an eagerness to help.What impressed me most was how seamlessly the staff worked together. Requests never disappeared into the system. People followed up. They checked whether things had been completed. There was a shared awareness across departments that made everything feel effortless from the guest’s perspective. You never heard, “You’ll have to ask the person you spoke to earlier.” Everyone seemed informed, engaged, and ready to help.The location is another tremendous advantage. Stockholm is easy to explore from here, and after long days discovering the city, it was a pleasure to return to a hotel that felt inviting and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was excellent, and every member of the team communicated fluently in English, making conversations easy and natural. They also went out of their way to help us find restaurants that catered to our vegetarian preferences, something we greatly appreciated.As a psychologist, I often pay attention to the culture of places. What stood out at Reisen was that the warmth did not seem scripted. It felt authentic. The staff appeared happy to be there, happy to work together, and happy to welcome guests. That kind of environment cannot be manufactured. It is built over time, and guests can feel the difference.Stockholm is a large city, yet we discovered a warmth and humanity here that made the experience special. Hotel Reisen reflected that spirit beautifully. Hyatt is a global brand, but Reisen has a soul of its own, and that made all the difference.Looking back, our memories of Stockholm will always be tied to the people at this hotel. They turned a stay into an experience and ensured that our Scandinavian journey ended on exactly the right note.We are incredibly glad we chose Hotel Reisen. Anything less would have felt like a disappointing ending to an otherwise wonderful trip.     A Wonderful Stay in Reisen Hotel with Exceptional Concierge Service!

    My wife and I stayed at the hotel for several days during our visit to Stockholm, and we had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained and tastefully designed. Our room was comfortable and elegant, and the view was absolutely stunning. We also really enjoyed the calm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel.The spa was excellent! It was clean, relaxing and exactly what we needed after spending the day exploring the city. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and really enjoyed both the food and the service. One of the highlights of our stay was the service we received from Jonathan at the concierge desk. On our first day, we asked for recommendations for restaurants, attractions and places to visit in Stockholm. He took the time to understand what we were looking for and gave us detailed suggestions that suited us very well.During our stay, we returned to the concierge desk several times with different questions and reservation requests. Jonathan was always smiling, patient and helpful, and everything was handled quickly and professionally. What we appreciated most was that whenever we came back from the places he had recommended, he remembered us and asked how our experience had been.That personal touch made the stay feel even more welcoming. The hotel was already a lovely place to stay, but the warm and attentive service made the experience even better. We would be very happy to return on our next visit to Stockholm.
