Location

This hostel/youth hostel warmly welcomes guests in Stockholm. For those in need of an adults-only holiday, it provides everything needed for a pleasant stay.

    Everything was great—clean, fresh, very pretty, nice and pleasantly scented. The common areas were constantly being cleaned by the housekeeper. We felt very safe and I would definitely recommend it to everyone ;)

    Run by eastern European criminals.They let people at night who hack your phone.Also cancelled and rebooked.I asked about this during check in. The lady lied, they held it up. Still waiting for a refund. They said it was booking.com So lying criminals. Stockholm is riddled with human trash. Disappointing l.

    Skanstulls Hostel was an absolute gem. With comfortable beds, secure luggage storage, onsite (paid) laundry, and a spacious guest kitchen complete with shared ingredients and cooking utensils, I immediately felt at home here. The hostel was also really nicely decorated and the staff were super helpful. The bathrooms were the cleanest out of any I have seen in Europe so far, and the shower pressure was amazing. Even better, the towels were complimentary! Skanstulls Hostel’s position in the heart of Södermalm was also a huge plus. While the hostel is within walking distance of Gämla Stan and the shopping district, it is far enough out of the tourist areas to make you feel like you’re getting a real experience of Stockholm. I will definitely be returning!

    I got the solo room w/ shared bathroom. Pros- bathroom allocated for male & female - bathrooms are regularly cleaned - shared kitchen is huge & has 2 fridges, stove, microwave - there are free snacks & drinks at the kitchen - small library Cons- leaving your luggage after checkout is only allowed until 3 pm - walls are too thin, you can hear people snoring - people just leave their shoes outside the door, at the hallway

    Disgusting Showers and Noisy Room

    The location is great. It's very close to the train stop, and is within walking distance of many cool restaurants, bars, and other sights in Sodermalm. That said, I would not stay here again. The showers were disgusting, and were never cleaned in the week I stayed here.My room was next to the bathroom, and every time someone closed a shower door it sounded like a door slamming in my room. I was woken up by this sound multiple times both late at night and early in the morning (and I sleep with earplugs!). The sound insulation is poor in general, and it was very noisy all the time with creaky doors opening and closing.Reception is only staffed a few hours each day, so if you need anything outside of that time, your only option is to use an "emergency phone".I knew the rooms were tiny and windowless from the reviews, but the whole hostel has no windows and feels very dungeonlike.
