    The location of this hotel could not be better. Two minutes walk from the railway station and the tram hub to anywhere in the city. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the breakfasts are great. The room is really well cared for - just not large! They had paid attention to the request for quiet though so can’t complain. It was over the back. The front would be noisy.

    This hotel was booked for us by an agent on our rail journey across Europe and turned out to be a hidden gem. Next to the rail station and close to tram lines it really was central to our city exploration.With the location proving to be excellent, the Art Deco period of the hotel and associated art work was in keeping with our own interests and likes.Not being a chain but a family run boutique hotel gave a character to its operation with all staff from those at breakfast to front desk, engaging as well as proficient and professional in all our interactions.

    We were only here one night but a kind helpful welcome at the front desk. Bed was comfy and shower good. The Breakfast really good and had everything and was organic with so many healthy choices. Cheeses and breads delicious! Kind hostess with cappuccino machine.

    Very attentive staff, rooms good, breakfast good. The reception staff were particularly good: explaining the travel pass and complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar and offering complimentary snacks for our railway journey - very much appreciated -thank you

    Stayed one night with a group. The hotel is in a great position across the road from the main station - platforms can be reached in three minutes.Our room was modern and functional but with adequate storage, excellent bathroom and shower. Very quiet despite overlooking the street. The wooden floor seemed to be heated, but not sure about this.The breakfast room decor was in a much older style, excellently fitted out, and the buffet was very comprehensive and excellent quality.On arrival, the reception staff were good with our group, making sure that everyone understood where the rooms, lifts, restaurants, etc were located and the hotel even provided each guest with a free 24 hour pass for Basel trams and buses.Highly recommended Ayona Steiner, Marketing at Bio GAIA Hotel Basel, responded to this review Thank you so much for taking the time to review us!
