    Had a room on top floor with a large balcony which was great. Room had a Nespresso machine. Located very close to main railway station. Reception gives you a Basel Card to obtain free public transport around the city which is brilliant and operates seamlessly. Only complaint i have is that there was only one plug socket in quite a large room. I like to take and use my own hairdryer but there was literally nowhere to plug this in near a mirror. There was a wall mounted hairdryer in bathroom but not to my liking. There was a bar available 24 hours a day. Also enjoyed british TV channels such as ITV and BBC which was a bonus.     We had a very nice stay in Basel. The Ibis Hotel is within easy walking distance from the SBB rail station and the cost was low for that area. The room was basic, clean, and well furnished, and the breakfast was tasty and offered many choices. The best part for us was that we had requested extra pillows in the room (medical reasons), and the very pleasant desk clerk saw that note when we checked in, and asked us how many we would like. She even offered to bring them up to the room for us. We have made that special request often, but this was actually the first chain hotel that has acted on it. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

    Great location - close to the train station and a tram station right in front of the hotel. With the Basel Card that comes with the hotel stay, public transportation in Basel is free.Small but clean room.

    We needed to make an outside local telephone call which lasted lest than one minute! We just received the bill - 18.75 chf! Budget hotels will get you one way or the other.
