  Comfortable Chain Hotel on a Main Rood

  I was in Basel for the Fast Nacht carnival festivities. This was a reasonably priced hotel that I found. It is less than a mile from the main train station. Safe neighborhood. I walked it in the evening. Trams and buses very close by. Free Basel card provided at checkin to use public transport which I did to go close to the center of Old Town where the parade and festivities occurred. That was about a mile away from the hotel too. Breakfast was quite a good spread with a variety of options. My room was a corner one on a high floor. Small compact room. Bathroom was clean and had a hand held shower. TV offered several channels. Coffee and tea available in the lobby 24 hours. Ibis is part of the Accor hotel chain and if you sign up for their frequent stay program you get a discount on the room rate and earn points too.   Excellent value in an expensive city

  Very comfortable and clean room. Good tv (UK channels are around channel no 76). Terrific shower with instant hot water. Water coolers on each floor, but water is drinkable in the room. Complimentary tea/coffee and sometimes croissants in lobby. Smashing buffet breakfast. Everything well designed and thought out for a comfortable stay. No safe in the room, which is unusual these days. That would be my only criticism.Staff in reception, dining room, behind the bar (especially Anya), the housekeeping team - all ready with a smile and pleasant attitude. With Basel card getting around the city is easy and free. Nearby trams 10 & 11 go to the main station (2 stops) and 15 goes into the centre (3 stops). I can recommend meals in the Market Hall, which is near the main station.

  This is a lovely hotel for a few days stay in Basel. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and the reception area pleasant. Free coffee is available in reception and snacks can also be purchased there. We are staying from the 10th to the 14th December 2025. Our room is 641.The rooms are very nice with a comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean. The room has bedside tables with lights above, a nice sized flatscreen TV showing BBC1 and ITV +1, shelving underneath, a full length mirror, wardrobe, phone, WiFi and air conditioning. There is a lovely mural of Basel overlooking the Rhine on one wall. The room could do with a safe and drawers.The bathroom is very nice with a rainfall shower and large sink with shelving under. Although the shower floor is supposed to be non slip you need to take care and there is nothing to hold on to if you slip. Rubber shower safety mats are needed. Shampoo and liquid soap are supplied.Breakfast is very good hot and cold and caters for all appetites. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.   Second time is again another charm!

  I stayed at Ibis Styles Basel City the first time in May 2024. I was very impressed with the hotel being new, well maintained and clean. Staff was also exceptional. Had to come back, if I have a chance to visit Basel again.In Oct 2025, I have a business trip to Basel and again choose to stay at Ibis Styles Basel. The hotel remains well kept and extremely clean. Everything works really well. In addition to last visit, they add the water dispenser on every floor which is a great idea. Breakfast is really nice and adequate. The food constantly is looked after to make sure it is well replenished and the buffet area stays clean. Some variation in food offered between two consecutive days, as I stayed for two nights, is a nice touch. I am happy to experience the same nice treatment from the hotel staff as I have had last year. This ranges from reception, restaurant/bar staff, housekeeping and all. I encountered a few times when the staff actually sing/hum while working. This shows how happy they are and that translates into the great service provided. It is indeed a great atmosphere in the hotel.Special shout out to Axel, the front office supervisor, who makes me feel genuinely welcomed, once again. He makes sure I am a happy guest and is very attentive in providing anything I need. Many thanks once again for your exceptional service!!!Keep up the great work, Ibis Styles Basel...   Awful stay. Room was on top of 15 track wide train track and trains ran every minute 24 hours a day - also close to a station so they are screeching breaks as they go by the hotel. The room shakes - the noise is deplorable - whole thing was awful - 3 nights didnt sleep a wink. I don’t even feel like commenting on anything other than this about this hotel - it’s average anyway but be grand if wasnt for this situation - it’s now 1:30am and I’m still awake just listening to trains screech by and shake the bloody room!
