Comfortable
02 Jun 2026
We only stayed here for one night on our way home to Denmark. The location is not far from city centre. The room was a good size. Service was friendly. Due to our very early departure, they were kind enough to organise take out breakfast box with drinks and fruits for us. Very much appreciated that. Would definitely stay here again when in Basel. Nicolas Rimelin, General Manager at Pullman Hotel Europe Basel, responded to this review Dear FrancisMimiLay,Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay. Sweltering Hot Rooms
05 May 2026
Pullman Basel has an ‘eco-friendly’ room cooling system which really doesn’t work well when it’s hot outside. I stayed 2 nights in spring time. It really wasn’t particularly hot weather but the eco room cooling system could not cope. I asked reception and they gave me a fan, and advised to keep the window open. So, slept little due to stuffy room, and trams outside.I mentioned the room temperature on check out, and was told that they do it to protect the environment.Unless you are an eco-warrior, I would avoid this hotel at any time other than winter. Nicolas Rimelin, General Manager at Pullman Hotel Europe Basel, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.Sincerely,Fraser CurrieFront Office Manager

Free Tram ~ Walkable area ~ Excellent Hotel
21 Dec 2025
We stay here for 3 nights in room 617 after disembarking a cruise. Room was large and very nice decor.Breakfast was included and many options available. I had an omelet cooked each morning as wellTram stop located outside hotel which is free for tourists and took us to the Christmas Markets which was the purpose of our stay. Supermarket also located very close to hotel which also had a pharmacy. Very walkable area.My only complaint was we disembarked our cruise a 9:30 on a Sunday morning. Check-in was not until 3:00pm. It was a wet day, no shops are open in Switzerland on a Sunday and Markets didn't open until 11:00. We spent most of our day in the foyer of the hotel waiting for our room to be ready. Room still wasn't ready at 3:30pm As this was a preferred hotel of Scenic/Emerald Cruises we thought we would have priority to access our room early. We spoke to management and although they were apologetic and offered a bottle of wine it still was upsetting. In hindsight If I had known better I would have booked the night before as well so we could have accessed our room as soon as we arrived, however at $570AUD per night this would be a large extra cost.We stay here again for the tram and central location. Nicolas Rimelin, General Manager at Pullman Hotel Europe Basel, responded to this review Dear allthingsclassy,Thank you for the great review of our hotel! I am sorry to hear that it took awhile for you to get into your room.We always strive to get the rooms cleaned as quickly as possible, while still making sure the standards are being upheld. Unfortunately on the day you were checking in we had been fully booked the night before and had no rooms available when you arrived. You are correct that the only way to guarantee the room will be ready during one of the busiest times of the year is to reserve the night before, alternatively you can contact us to let us know your arrival time as early as possible, although not guaranteed it does make it possible for us to plan so that it increases the chances of getting a room ready for you earlier. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon.Sincerely,Fraser CurrieFront Office Manager

Efficient, well located
12 Dec 2025
Well, it’s Swiss. That means well designed, ultra efficient and ultra clean. Nice modern rooms with a very efficient shower. Bar food limited but decent (I believe there is a restaurant with a wider choice as well). Two niggles- street side rooms may have quite a lot of tram noise so if that disturbs you try and find a room away from that side. The upside of course is that you are extremely well connected in terms of transport. And it was great they had a socket board with U.K. plus but because of the wooden flap on it actually quite difficult to get the plug in. Otherwise, all good.
