    Perfect Start to Our First Visit to Basel.

    We spent 1 night here prior to our river cruise to Amsterdam. the location was excellent for a little shopping and sightseeing for our abreviated stay.Literally a 2 minute walk to Spalentor Gate. Room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty with a good selection of food and a perfect start to the day. Having said that, the reason we will return is because the entire staff made us feel welcomed and their determination to make our Basel visit memerable.     Super hotel, very good location, nice, clean comfortable beds eves. Parkingi s a little bit complicated, but good (the neighboring street was closed - I think it's termperary - because of the street recontstruction.) I recommened it to anyone.     Besides having a convenient location near the old town, our room was very comfortable and spacious. We overlooked the front courtyard on the Main Street, but the windows sealed out the traffic noise. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and it was a nice option to have snacks and drinks at the small ground level bar area after having been walking all day. Breakfast was on the fifth floor and they had a great selection.     Excellent place to stay in Basel. They had all the amenities one could ask for while traveling (even a scale to see how much one gained during the trip!). The staff was excellent; bed comfortable; clean facilities and good, varied breakfast included with the room. They also have bikes for free to use, which we highly recommend for a casual ride along the Rhine. Well situated and very quiet considering its location of city center. Loved our stay there.
