    Very Nice!

Clean, modern hotel. The room was quiet and quite comfortable, and provided a darkened sleeping experience. Enjoyed the shower and breakfast. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. The Basel Card offering free local transportation was a nice bonus.

    Great place to stay!

    rating21 Apr 2026

We found The Passage to be a lovely spot to land for a couple of nights. It was extremely clean; the staff was very friendly and also very helpful with requests and making suggestions. The breakfasts were excellent! It was quiet in our room. Everything was just as it should be! I always hesitate to make reservations, believing that the photos and reviews are . . . contrived. The Passage lived up to the photos and reviews. It was especially nice to be offered upgrades prior to our visit. Nicolas Moos, Sonstige at The Passage, responded to this review Dear 688sherrif,Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that your stay at The Passage met — and even lived up to — your expectations. It is especially rewarding to know that you appreciated the cleanliness, the friendliness and helpfulness of our team, as well as the quality of our breakfast offerings. We understand the hesitation that can come with booking a stay based only on photos and reviews, so your trust means a great deal to us. We are thrilled that your experience reflected what we aim to provide every guest: comfort, authenticity, and attentive service. It was our pleasure to offer you an upgrade prior to your visit, and we are glad this added to your overall experience. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to The Passage again in the future. The Passage Team

Contemporary hotel in Basel with excellent service and easy access to SBB Station and city center

    rating15 Mar 2026

Located along a busy road but set back with some space between the traffic and the building, the modern hotel with a contemporary feel still felt calm and pleasant. Our ground‑floor room faced the patio and was very quiet, even with the window open at night. The room and bathroom were spacious and spotless. The hotel is within walking distance of Basel SBB railway station. There is also a bus from the station to the hotel (one stop, the ride takes about four minutes and the buses run frequently). The city center is also easily reachable on foot. The staff were very friendly and helpful.I can warmly recommend this hotel. Nicolas Moos, Sonstige at The Passage, responded to this review Dear Paul,Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a wonderful review of your stay with us. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed the calm atmosphere of the hotel and that your room overlooking the patio allowed you to rest comfortably. It is also great to know that you appreciated the spacious and spotless room as well as the convenient access to Basel SBB station and the city center.Your kind words about our team mean a lot to us.Providing friendly and helpful service is something we truly care about, and your feedback is a wonderful encouragement for everyone here.Thank you again for your warm recommendation. We would be very happy to welcome you back on your next visit to Basel.Warm regards,The Passage Team
