  La Pergola was a good option for us on a recent visit to Bern. The location is good with proximity to public transport. The room was very clean, though also very small. To walk around the bed you have to lean over and duck your head to keep from hitting the TV. The bed was comfortable. Hotel staff were very nice and very helpful with tips and suggestions for our visit. Overall, it was a good experience.

  Found this hotel to be one of the cheapest for a last minute booking. I only needed to stay for 2 nights and it had all i needed as i only slept there and out most of the day.Breakfast was good and a buffet, so you could help yourself to all you wanted.If you wanted a hot drink during the day , then you could get one from the breakfast room, you just had to ask at reception.The room i stayed in on the 3rd floor was clean and had all you really need. It had a window you could open if you wanted fresh air and a blind on the outside you could use to shut the light out. There was a tv in the room , the bathroom had a shower with plenty of hot water, soap and towels.

  Very professional and friendly stuff, sadly this can't be sayed about management. Way to overpriced for what is giving. Very first shock was the terrible smell on the 2nd floor and after in the room. It has that old and humid smell when pipes are leaking in the walls. The rooms furnitures are very used, the pictures were taken somewhere in the past several years ago... When in the famous Zermatt you get modern 3* spa hotel for the same price, I think there is an ethical problem with pricing...

  The room was dusty when we arrived. It seemed they cleaned it after the last guests departed, but forgot to check before we arrived. My husband is asthmatic and had a bad reaction. After the room was cleaned next morning, it was OK, but they should really check if there is a few days’ gap between one set of guests leaving and another set arriving.The facilities are very basic - there is no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities in the room, although we managed to borrow a kettle from the reception (and later had to go back to borrow some cups). The area around the hotel is quiet. The tram stop is very close, so it was easy to get around once we got to know the system. Having said that, I’d probably book somewhere closer to the old town as it’s not quite as central as it seemed from the map. The receptionist who greeted us when we arrived was friendly and helpful.

  The Service was PHENOMENAL !! The receptionist Felix is a real credit to this hotel as he provided above and beyond support as I lost my passport . He made the stay much more easy during this stressful time. The cost was extremely reasonable for the nice accommodations. The location is excellent to downtown and to the American Embassy.
