    Traditional and Great location for the old town

    Hotel is a five / ten min easy walk on the edge of old town from the train station.The hotel is very traditional , in places dated but I suppose that is also its charm .Very hot and extremely noisy with traffic early in the morning and later at night but don’t let that put you off. It was a sudden hot spell so all of the windows needed to be open, Hence the noise . Reception staff especially were really friendly and helpful.Switzerland is expensive so don’t be surprised at how expensive eating in the hotel restaurant will be . Although it was the most expensive in our trip the food was lovely. Beautiful walks by gorge and also a cable car up. Worth noting that in May it is only open twice a week! Tourist information on way to station really helpful with local walks

    A traditional hotel full of wood and quite dark. We stayed here for a few nights as part of a group tour. We had a decent size room and the bed was comfortable. Modern bathroom but stingy size towels which seems normal for Switzerland. Usefully the hotel provided adaptors for UK plugs. Friendly staff and well located.

    BAD START TO SWISS TOUR.

    Our hotel room in the Stern Hotel Chur, which was the first stop in our Swiss journey, was a stern warning and bad start of journey. Our room was the smallest I’ve ever stayed in, you’ll most likely to bump into the furniture or trip over your luggage since there is no place to put it. And to top it off, it has stairs going down to get into the room. The only place smaller is the “strictly for midgets” bathroom. Make sure you double check your assigned room when you book. Service and breakfast are excellent though.

    We booked this hotel as we were travelling on the Bernina Express train the following day. We booked a budget double room and a budget single. The rooms were spotlessly clean, however the approach to the room in the annex building felt more like a cheap apartment block and there was no lift. The bathroom was extremely small and the shower curtain did not prevent the water from going all over the floor. The positives were that all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good indeed with plenty of choice and freshly cooked eggs.

    Whilst my visit was only overnight, I was delighted with the Hotel Stern Chur. The location is in the old town and an easy walk to everything. The Hotel is warm and comfortable. The rooms, whilst small are clean and have every amenity you need or imagined. The staff are welcoming and extremely helpful. The historic restaurant is fabulous. Glad I chose the Hotel Stern Chur.
