    The staff at this hotel is exceptional! One staff member really stood out- Sheryl- she went above and beyond to help us in so many ways and she was so kind and helpful that I wanted to mention her for her exceptional service. Hotel Mercure is lucky to have her! There was a young gentlemen who was always working the same shift as Sheryl and he was very helpful also. The room itself was comfortable with a nice bathroom and shower. The AC is not adjustable and on warm days the room can feel warm as you are not allowed to set the air to a more comfortable setting. As others have stated if you take the #6 bus you can go where you need to go, so transportation is quite easy. Overall, the town of Cher does not offer much to do, but we had a wonderful day hiking at the nearby gorge that runs by the Rhine.

    A Great Example of Excellent Hospitality!

    First of all, we fell in love with Chur which really surprised us because we thought of it as a transitional city after taking the Bernina Express from Tirano. We wished we had one day more there especially with the room we had at Mercure West! We had the corner room that had its own sauna and with a spectacula view of the mountains! The friendliness of the staff (restaurant staff included) is also first rate which we found surprising in a Swiss city especially with us, not conversant in German. The hotel provided us with a bus pass which made it all the more convenient to visit Old Town and even to go to the train station later. The Coop store in the building was also the best among the cities we visited in Switzerland!

    I booked for two nights with a friend and it was a great choice to stay.Well connected with bus number 6 just from train station to the hotel, or bus 10/11/12 which will drop off on the road over the hotel in front of Burger King.They send also the Chur free public transport the day before via email which is free of charge.Upon check-in, the lady at reception was very friendly; a friendliness that was not artificial, and seemed to be very honest, which I appreciate nowdays.Room was on fourth floor corner, overlooking the lovely mountain of Canton Grison.I loved the nespresso machine in the room and all was well set.We did also apply for green key skip the clean, where you can leave a small bag outside the room door handle ,and in exchange we received biscuits in order to skip the clean for the first night.We enjoyed our stay even more due to less tourists in this time of the year.Chur old town is a cozy town to relax .

    Perfect for a night

    The hotel is on the edge of town, but easily walkable in 20 minutes or use the bus as it stops right outside. Plus we had an unexpected bonus of free travel passes with our room. Well equipped rooms, lots of room amenities. Very helpful staff. Limited selection for breakfast, but enough to get us started for the day.

    We stayed in Chur for the night as we were getting the Bernina Express the next morning. Absolutely beautiful place and this hotel was fabulous. Staff friendly and helpful, check in was quick and easy. Access to everything needed. Free bus service right outside, shopping centre next door and food places near by also. We didnt eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food.Room was big, modern, clean and comfortable and the views were breathtaking!Wish we would of booked longer so we could appreciate them more .Thank you for a pleasant stay
