This appealing luxury hotel is housed within a listed building and offers stylish interiors, a cosy ambience and attentive service, features that have characterised this hotel since its opening in 1834. Located directly beside Lake Geneva at the heart of the city's shopping district and just 5 minutes walk from the old town, links to the public transport network are to be found just 500 m away.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1834. The hotel has 123 rooms, including 10 suites, 41 single rooms and 29 double rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand and a library.     The hotel is well located in the city center. The room we booked (superior room/king size bed for 2 nights) was not very pleasant for a hotel of this standard. As usual with Four seasons the staff is supposed to make you feel special and this was not really the case this time. For example, as we returned a bottle of champagne as we don't drink alcohol, we were offered to tiny chocolate tarts of the size an amuse bouche. With respect to food, there is also room for improvement here. The Italian restaurant is a one Michelin star restaurant and the setting is very nice. That being said, you can't charge 40 francs for 3 small asparagus as a starter. This is not acceptable. We also went to the bar the following day and ordered a ceasar salad. A huge amount of salad but unfortunately only a handful of slices of chicken. All the above may be seen as details, but they are not when you pay CHF 1600/night. On a more positive note, the breakfast is outstanding.     Very unprofessional & terrible experience at Salon Dufour! First of all, when we entered the hotel, no one opened the door for us. I thought this was a 5 star hotel? We were there for afternoon tea at precisely 3pm & there was nothing on the menu but snacks & drinks. We waited for someone to take our order, but after 15 minutes I had to go to reception & ask for someone to help us. Finally a server came & took our orders & it took a while to get our drinks. The server put our tea cups down in a messy way & not in front of each person. Then when the tea pots came the server poured the tea & it dripped on both the teapot & the tea cup saucers. He never apologized or changed our tea cups. I wholly expect Four Seasons to have impeccable service as they are world-renowned & the atmosphere & service to be perfection. Instead this was a waste of time & money. I will never return.     So happy i gave one more chance to Geneva and explore this hotel. It changed my perspective that there is still hope to experience luxury at Geneva hotels and finally a place that lives up to its promise.From arrival to departure staff couldnt be more kind, assistive and pleasant. They were always present and going above and beyond to assist.Room was also amazingly beautiful, historic but clean and beautiful. Bed super comfy as in all FS. All the food and beverage at the hotel is up to standard and both tasty and with best ingredients.     The service is exceptional, Location and property are the best in Geneva. No kids club But created a cooking pasta class with printed photos of the kids they loved it!
