    The Ramada Encore is something of a hidden gem. It was chosen by the holiday company as part of a package deal and I am glad they included it in their list of options. The hotel is located a few miles out of the city centre but there is a bus that runs every 10 minutes from just outside the hotel, a 3- 4 minutes walk. There is a football stadium next to it but matches are few and far between. There were none in time we were there. The conference centre next to it is separate so you are not disturbed by users. What is incredibly convenient is the shopping centre which is connected to it and which has a range of shops including a supermarket and a cinema. It also has most of the usual fast food outlets (KFC, McDonalds, Subway) which like everything else in Switzerland are unfortunately not cheap. Unlike the ordinary shops which close on a Sunday the food places are open every day to late in the evening. The Lancy Bachet train station (which is one bus stop away from the opposite direction to the city centre) services a large number of train connections. Geneva Cornavin (the main train station) is a short bus and tram ride. The rooms are well insulated and quiet. The beds are comfortable. The floors are laminate rather than the usual germ-filled carpets. The hotel does not appear to attract the rowdy element. The barrier to the front stops traffic from coming too close which again helps to keep noise to a minimum. We were concerned about the traffic noise as it close to a dual carriageway but you barely hear it. We were well looked after by the hotel staff who always responded promptly. I would stay here again if we were visiting Geneva.

    Excellent experience and location. This property is miles above any other Ramada Inn I have stayed at. Overall, excellent value for your money. Would certainly stay again and recommend.

    Exactly what I wanted

    The property is very clean, rooms are nice and spacious, and I would argue well equipped for a 3 star. The hotel is generally very good value for Geneva and located close to bus stops and train stations, annexed to a shopping mall. When I requested a late check out, this was happily accommodated. Housekeeping was to a really good standard. The only ‘downside’ is that you will need to get either a train or bus to Geneva city centre (it’s around 3.5km away) but that’s totally reflected in the far more affordable price.

    We had a great stay here. The location is great and not to far from the airport. We rented a car and this hotel was really handy to access the motorways and tolls. Also its in the shopping mall so plenty of choices for food and essentials if needed. They also gave us a free travel pass around geneva. Room was clean and to a good standard and cleaning staff couldnt do enough for us. I had a few questions before our arrival and I emailed the queries the response was quick and information thorough which I really appreciated.Staff where really pleasant and helpful. Parking was safe and idealWould recommend and would stay again.

    I expected more from Ramada. To be honest, the location should have set off alarm bells. The hotel is next door to the Geneva Stadium and a shopping mall in a rather industrial part of town. There is a station, Lancy-Bachet, a 10-minute walk away and regular buses, but it isn't near the centre. The room was dated, and the restaurant was not open on Saturdays and only from 8 pm on game day Sunday. This means you're forced to eat at the really bad Italian restaurant next to the stadium or do fast food next to the cinema. For the price of a basic room, you should have a restaurant in-house.
