  This is not a 3 star hotel!

  This hotel is 1-star hotel, 2 at its absolute best, but certainly not 3. The maintenance is appalling and the rooms are a jumble of hastily patched-up old parts and random new installations. For instance, one of the three windows was new while the other two were old and difficult to open/close, plus not noise proof. The bathroom door didn’t shut properly at all. The entire hotel was generally mess, as shown in my pictures. There so many brochures in the lobby area, it was rather comical; we called it the hotel of brochures. There is no aircon, so expect to be boiling hot in the warmer months since it is too noisy to keep the windows open over night. But to be fair it was not advertised as such. The breakfast is poor and not very appetising, the staff is friendly enough but probably completely underpaid since they don‘t seem to be fully trained in what they are doing.The location however is great if you are there to explore and not planning on spending much time in the hotel, and everything was clean. Which is why I am giving 2 stars after all.

  Perfect Location with Stunning River and Mountain Views

  I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, right next to the Interlaken West train station and bus stop, and situated beside a beautiful river. The lady at the reception was very friendly and welcoming. Our room had a serene view of the river and mountains—one of the best hotel room views I’ve ever experienced. The room also had a decent-sized balcony, and it was very clean and comfortable. They kindly honored our request for a higher-floor room overlooking the river. Breakfast was okay, but overall, our stay was very good, and the hotel has a great vibe.

  Good location, but missing the extra service and quality.

  Good location. But the hotel hotel could need some makeover and fixing. Also the service and breakfast was not the best. The brekfast was ok, but was inefective, and you had to wait ine line, even though it was only 15 people in the brekfast area. With some extra care from the oqners og this hotel, it could really give gueast a good experience og their stay.

  Great location but overpriced and needs extensive renovation

  The positives: Location ... when you hop off the train with heavy luggage and you can see your hotel from the platform, this is a good thing. Also a short walk to most of Interlaken. The building itself is very pretty, especially with the backdrop of the alps and the river in front. The breakfasts were good. Lots of variety and quite fresh. The view; absolutely stunning view of the swiss alps ... I'll never forget it. The place seemed clean enough. The negatives ... this place hasn't been renovated since, I would estimate, the 70s given some of the wallpaper I recognised from my childhood. There is no aircon and I'd hate to stay there in the warmer months. The beds are okay and the pillows were comfortable. There was mould on the wood on the windows - this is not healthy at all and needs to be cleaned. I found it relatively quiet when the windows were shut but it was hot with the windows shut (even in May) so god help you if you're there in summer. Our bathroom was older than god and in desperate need of ripout and refit. Clearly there's a water leak, because near the bathroom door (the water is obviously travelling underneath the tiles somehow) there is water damage to the wood parquetry. The water is obviously escaping into the living/bed area as well because there is mould underneath the wallpaper. $335AUD per night and there's visible mould? Not cool.

  Very old hotel with bad customer service

  Apart from the location, nothing is good here. The rooms and bathrooms are so old. Their staff is ok, but their customer service is not at all good. We booked through Booking.com, and requested for refund due to inclement weather. They told me they will refund some amount if we request through Booking.com, but refused any refund to Booking.com.
