3 star hotel with so much potential!

    rating20 May 2026

This is a charming, older boutique hotel. It is a strong 3 stars but has potential to reach 3.5. Free WiFi. Elevator to the second floor but to access the third floor you must use stairs. Free breakfast — juices, teas, breads, cheeses, deli meats, eggs, and fruit. The rooms could use a bit of a renovation/enhancement. No air conditioning. The beds aren’t very comfortable and the pillows need to be replaced. They are not supportive at all and basically have no stuffing inside of them. The staff is friendly. Great location. With a few changes, this could be a wonderful hotel!

    First class

Me and my wife have just returned from a two week stay at hotel Châlet Swiss room 230. The trip was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in Switzerland. The hotel was exactly what we was looking for, traditional Swiss accommodation. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the housekeeping staff kept our room spotlessly clean ( a huge thank you to them). Breakfast was a traditional Swiss buffet of meats cheeses cereals yoghurts etc. always varied and plentiful.my only criticism was our last night was difficult to sleep due to one guest banging and slamming doors all night waiting to check out but this was no fault of the hotels. I felt no reason to complain as we were checking out the next day also, although we was far more considerate of other guests. All in all a perfect holiday and accommodation. I would happily return again. Love from Darren and Audrey (uk)

    A three star experience

    rating11 Oct 2025

A basic hotel in a quiet area, 10 minutes walk from Interlaken West. On arrival, the male receptionist was very helpful and continued to be so during the course of our stay. Our bedroom was in the annex. All clean, but the bathroom was in desperate need of an upgrade. The breakfast was adequate, however the only cooked item on offer was scrambled egg. The fruit salad was tinned. When coming to clear the tables, the waitress used a brush and proceeded to sweep all the crumbs on to the chairs!!

    Nice traditional Swiss hotel

    rating26 Aug 2025

Very nice, traditional Swiss hotel, placed few minutes walk from Interlaken West train station (about 30 minutes walk to Interlaken Ost) and ferry terminal. The breakfast was delicious and also the staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Poor customer service, rude staff, run down rooms

    rating21 Aug 2025

I would not recommend this hotel. They have a check in cut off time. We would have arrived before then but a late train delayed us. When we arrived the whole place was dark and there was no staff present. We figured we would have to spend the night somewhere else and asked at the hotel next door. They called this hotel and got a hold of an employee who was still there and said they would let us in. But when we walked back (literally less than a two minute walk) they were gone. Apparently they decided not to wait and left. We had to go back to the other hotel where a really helpful employee called them back and was given a code to an SOS box with a master key. The whole thing took almost 2 hours! The next day when we were returning the key for the actual room key (which we were told to do by the man in the phone) the employee at the desk was super rude about why we had the SOS key. We tried to go for included breakfast which should have still been served for ten more minutes only to be yelled at that they were already putting it away. The pillow was so thin I slept with it rolled up and a blanet underneath that and it was still horrible. I probably could have asked for another pillow but by then I was too scared to be yelled at another time. There was no temperature control in the room that we could find, and the small pedestal sink make it extremely difficult to do my hair and makeup in the morning. My fiance found the tub/shower too small his shoulder touched the wall and curtain and he had to crouch in order to get his head wet. The third night we were there another guest locked themselves out of the room and because there are zero staff past 10pm they had to climb to the second floor onto someone else's balcony and then around to their room and break in through the window.
