**A Lovely Stay at Hotel Salzano – I Would Definitely Return!**

    rating23 Mar 2026

We had a great stay at the 3-star **Hotel Salzano** in Interlaken. The hotel is clean, cozy, and very comfortable, with excellent bedding and mattresses that made for a great night’s sleep. The highlight of our stay was by far the spa. While small, it was the perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. We also dined at the hotel’s restaurant both nights, and the food and wine were excellent. The hotel’s location is very convenient. They provide a free bus pass into Interlaken, which is just 12 minutes away. We also enjoyed walking to Lake Thun from the hotel, which only took about 10 minutes. The only minor downside was that some of the reception staff felt a little cold and abrupt. On the other hand, the owner was absolutely charming and personally checked in on us each night at dinner — such a thoughtful, personal touch. One thing to note, especially for light sleepers, are the room locations. South-facing rooms have a larger terrace and lovely mountain views, but they face the road. North-facing rooms are quieter, but surprisingly, they come with a CHF 25 per night supplement, despite being the same inside size and category, with a smaller balcony.Overall, **Hotel Salzano** is a lovely place to stay — comfortable, clean, and with excellent food, spa, and location. I would happily return.

Small spa. old fashioned rooms but nice experience

    rating31 Dec 2025

We booked this spa hotel as we could actually book 1 night after Christmas and everywhere else we had to book 2 nights. We had 3 deluxe rooms for the family but I would not call them deluxe. Rather old fashioned, small room and with small sink, part of our tap was missing and the shower above the bath. We went to the spa for several hours on the Saturday afternoon, which we enjoyed the various saunas but it is too small. There are 24 rooms at the hotel, and external people can pay a fee and also use the spa so only 11 loungers in the Ruhe Zone is not enough as you had to wait for one to become free. People took books and phones in which meant they were lying there a long time. The hot tub was fun, but the view is the cars driving past..it needs more shielding around the pool.We chose not to have dinner at the Michelin on site as the reviews had not looked great and so we went elsewhere, which was excellent. Breakfast was good the next day although lots of dried meats but no smoked salmon, which was a shame. Our daughter needed gluten free bread which they provided. Good coffees and even prosecco if you needed it.

    Not up to expectations

    rating26 Sept 2025

The Deluxe room with balcony was disappointing in it’s size, old wood furniture, and old-style bathroom (tub with shower, small sink). We used the walk in showers at their spa which were modern and much nicer. Robes and slippers are provided in your room and the spa is just across from the main building. The outdoor, heated to 30 degrees Celsius, spa pool was the best thing about this hotel. Inside the spa is a sauna and steam room, showers and a serene relaxation area. The Salazano boasts a supposedly 2022 Michelin starred restaurant, but the food, while good, was not Michelin-level quality. The best thing about it was its convenience. Breakfast was included and was good. The biggest drawback is this hotel does not have air-conditioned rooms. Our room, even though on the 3rd floor (which is their top floor), was stuffy and hot, never getting below 24 degrees celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit) even with the fan they provided. Interlaken just does not get the cool night breezes of the higher mountain areas. If I go back, I will choose a hotel with AC as a good nights sleep is worth the extra cost.

    Pleasant expierience

    rating20 Sept 2025

Good little bistro. Tartar was nice, fine small wine selection. The main course i had was chicken, which was quite bland and the vegatable garnish was very noticeably unevenly salted.

    The Best!

    rating11 Sept 2025

We recently spent 4 nights at Salzano and it was the best 4 nights of our trip. The staff, the room, the atmosphere were all perfect. If you are on the fence as to whether to stay here or not, do not hesitate. We had a car, so the issue of getting into town was not a problem for us. The ladies at the front desk were helpful and gave great advice. We even asked for a packed lunch one day and they had it all ready for us as we left for our adventure of the day. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the stars in the evening. The view was relaxing. We left the doors to the balcony open a bit at night. I can't say enough. It was perfect! Thank you to all at the Salzano Hotel!
