Peaceful location with views to Mt Pilatus

    rating02 Nov 2025

We caught the ferry to Weggis from Lucerne which was such a great way to arrive. Short walk to the hotel. Greeted by friendly lady and given a very large family style room with sitting area and fantastic views from each window. Two bathrooms were in the room. I did select a room with floorboards not carpet and it looked different online but the room we were given was large and comfortable with some tasty biscuits on arrival plus a coffee machine and water. Perhaps this was an upgrade, not really sure. The owner is also very friendly and chatty. We dined at the restaurant and had an excellent meal by the Italian chef. Particularly enjoyed the soup and the scenery is magnificent. The pool area looked very relaxing however we wanted to explore Mount Rigi so chose to do that instead as it's very close to the hotel and an easy walk to the cable car. Each day we caught the ferry into Lucern to visit Mt Pilatus and look around the area. Our initial intention was to stay in Lucern, the hotels we liked were booked out so we decided to look in areas surrounding which is why we stayed in Weggis as it's a short ferry ride to Lucerne. This was a good decision and the environment is very relaxing. The hotel itself has an interesting history. The breakfast was good and the chef always checking you are happy with the meals presented. I would stay here again as it was good value and a beautiful location.

    Phenomenal

    rating13 May 2025

Blown away!! The hotel is completely stunning - it’s right on the lake overlooking the mountains with perfectly manicured gardens, a beautiful seating area and heated pool. On to the rooms - the beds are heavenly soft and comfortable with crisp bed linen. The rooms are spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed with generous amenities including toiletries, coffee machine, waters replenished every day etc.The food is really, really good - especially dinner (get the tiramisu!!!), and there’s a live pianist playing most evenings in the restaurant. Most of all the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble - they’re so friendly and were always willing to go above and beyond. The manager even brought my son a box of toys to play with for our stay (borrowed from his own son!). We loved every minute and cannot wait to come back soon.

Beautiful setting meals looking over lake and mountains

    rating09 Sept 2024

Beautiful setting, gardens right down to the lake. Few minutes walk to where the boats go from, on the level. Stayed with elderly parents, did seemed more for the more mature, but that might have been because non school holiday.Opened in 1890s and so magnificent staircase, old fashioned but working lift. Definitely felt like where somebody from a historical novel may stay on the"tour of Europe" with their elderly aunt. We found all staff very friendly and helpful. You could have afternoon drinks down by the lake, or in the lounge and breakfast / supper inside, or out on the stunning terraceBuffet breakfast - fresh bread, cold meats / smoked salmon / boiled egg / tomato /mozarella, yoghurts, fresh fruit, juices, muesli, croissants and pastries, definite;y enough to fill you up for the morning. Evening meal was spectacular, so very tastey, good service, but also rather expensive, but I guess you expect that in such a hotel as it makes it more exclusive, Bedroom was clean and lovely shower - waterfall with almost a power shower hose that could be removed from the wall in addition. Walk in shower with handrails to hold onto. The bathroom was definitely 5 star and beautifulMy only criticism of the hotel was the lighting. At breakfast some of the food was poorly lit so difficult to see what it was (other parts well lit in the buffet are). When the sun came in the bedroom was beautiful and light, but in the evening, there were areas of the room that were very dark as the main lighting was sidelights by either side of the bed and a desk lamp. They had good directional bright lights for reading in bed. They had downlighters, but these had very dim bulbs in so barely made a difference. I felt that with LED lights now, these could easily be brighter and so provide the choice of romantic side lights or turning on brighter downlights when wanting a brighter light.Great place to go if you want a peaceful break,

    Terrible customer care

    rating23 Apr 2024

BEWARE! Terrible cancelation policy. I had a room booked and messaged them to cancel a week in advance and I was told that since I didn’t pay the extra fee to allow cancellations that I couldn’t get any refund at all. BEWARE! I thought it meant in less than 24 hours, but this was still a week away. They didn’t seem to care. They thanked me for my money and that was it.
